Let's take a look at the La Vie Moderne duvet cover set. I got the set to fit a king bed. The set includes a duvet cover and two pillow cases. It is also available in a Queen size. The set is available in white and gray. As you can see from the photos mine is gray. I am going to assume that you know that a duvet cover is like a giant pocket into which you can 'slide' your duvet. Most covers, including this one, have buttons to secure the opening. The easiest way to put the cover on is to turn it inside out, grab the corners of your duvet and turn it right side out….voila your duvet is inside. Yeah, easier said that done - but I did it solo….two people could really make the process simple. Our mattress sits on a platform rather than on a pair of box springs. So the duvet cover (with a down comforter inside) drapes nicely over the bed and looks good. The stitch work on the duvet cover is ok. Not tight close stitches but more than adequate for the price range. The duvet cover has x buttons. I would suspect that, after three or more washes, I may have to reattach a button or two. The buttons are held on with the minimum amount of thread. The button holes are finished and properly sized. My king down comforter fit perfectly inside the duvet cover. I did throw it in the wash prior to using it. Per the instructions I washed it in cold water and dried it with minimal heat for the shortest possible time. It came out of the dryer relatively wrinkle-free and actually looked quite nice on the bed. Reportedly washing in cold water and using minimal heat/time to dry microfiber material will help maintain its softness. The color is a nice neutral gray and perfectly complements the eggplant sheets and pillowcases on the bed. The gray cover would look equally nice with basic white sheets. Throw some accent pillows on the bed and the basic gray could complement any room. The La Vie Moderne duvet set is made with micro fiber. That nomenclature covers a lot of territory! Everything from a polar fleece pullover to very soft bedding materials. Personally I like the feel of soft light micro fiber sheets and pillow cases. I first encountered them in a Hilton Hotel and decided to get a set for home. Adding a micro fiber duvet cover seemed like the next step. Like micro fiber sheets, the La Vie Moderne duvet cover is soft, smooth and has a nice lightweight feel. It feels kind of friction-free against the hand; perhaps a reflection of the weave and the surface texture. The fabric does not feel crisp like you might experience with new fresh cotton. In fact this microfiber material feels like a well worn cotton. Imagine cotton sheets that have been laundered a couple hundred times. I like that feel. These are very subjective assessments but…well that's what you get in a review. The duvet set came shipped in an appropriately sized box from Amazon. Inside was the clear plastic zippered case holding the duvet set. What are you supposed to do with that zipper case; it seems like overkill but most sheet sets come packed in a similar fashion. Finally I would compare cost vs quality and suggest that, for the money, this set is priced very fairly. My only concerns might be with the stitching (certainly adequate and appropriate for the price range) and the minimal threads securing the buttons.La Vie Moderne provided me with this duvet set to try out so I could give you an objective review. I hope this review will be helpful and that the photos will give you a sense of what the duvet set is like.

This lovely king size duvet cover arrived and I couldn't be happier. What an amazing price for such a great product! I ordered the white set and it is as soft as a cloud. My comforter insert is also white so nothing will show through, although I doubt it would. The cover closes with buttons, which I am used to. My main reason for being impressed is the softness of the fabric. It does not feel like cotton which can often be too stiff and crisp for my liking, but it feels more like cotton that has softened over time. I would advise washing before you put it on, but be sure to wash on cold, although I don't think it would shrink, I believe microfiber will have a longer life if washed in cooler temperatures. The fit is good, and you can buy corner clips that keep your comforter from shifting around inside the duvet cover. They attach on the inside of each of the four corners. Worth the small investment and trouble. I agreed to give an honest review for this product in exchange for a reduced price, but I feel the full retail price is well worth it.

Super soft and fits my Duvet just right
Super soft and fits my Duvet just right. Hope it doesn't start to fall apart like my other cover. Also comes with two great size pillow cases.
