For all those who are trying to decide which version of the Lepy amps to buy this version has a STMicroelectronics TDA7377 chip inside which is a class AB analogue amp chip as apposed to the more common class T tripath versions. This results in a warmer and slightly fuller sound quality and also means the amp gets a bit hotter than the class T ones. I actually prefer this version over the other ones. Runs best on a 13.5 volt 5 amp supply.

I have a very similar unit from the same manufacturer which I had bought about 5 years ago. I bought this unit to replace it because I thought it had broken but it turns out it was the cheap switch mode power supply that had died (that I had sourced elsewhere). I have preplaced the power supply and now have a spare amplifier :) For the price this unit is extremely good value for money!

tested with 4 ohm car speakers a very very low power amp its no more than a toy

This is a very decent amplifier and I find it unfair to give it 1 star because of no power cable (which is clearly mentioned) *ahem*

as soon as the unit is switched on it emits a buzzing noise. There is an audible click everytime there is a change in music or speech through the speakers the only way to stop the buzzing is to use only one channel which defeats the object of buying something with two even then there is a hissing sound. not impressed by the unit. The amplifier has now stopped working altogether so i shall be returning it
