Awesome
This is the best book! Great pictures to go along with the Bible hero. It also has ways for the child to use the story to be their own hero on earth. Great gift but also great to read with your child.

A great devotional for the whole family!
This was recommended in my Moms Group and I’m so glad we bought it. We read a story every night after dinner - it’s great for all ages. My 6 yo begs for an extra story on most nights.

This is a solid devotional - VERY well designed and very user-friendly
I like everything about this devotional. As both a home-church fellowship leader and a corporate trainer (M.Ed) who loves inductive Bible study (observation, interpretation, application), I give this book my wholehearted recommendation. Although it's geared for youth, this book is actually appropriate for all age groups!Every devotional takes up two pages, making it very easy to use. Open the book anywhere and you have an entire devotional before you. Starting with Noah and ending with a session on John writing the Book of Revelation, this Bible Force First Heroes Devotional takes you on a chronological walk through the Bible, teaching us about all the key players and providing some excellent principles to incorporate in one's life.I love how the authors created succinct overviews of various people and events, and every lesson comes down to how a Biblical principle can be applied to our daily lives -- with PRACTICAL suggestions for how to apply it. Yes, the book is geared for kids, but I have to say, each devotional provides an excellent framework for adults, as well! You could do one every day, or every other day, three-per-week, or once a week. The main idea is to focus on the principles and make sure they grow roots in your (and/or your child's) heart. I wouldn't want to rush these ... let the principles become habits, and that takes time.By the way, each lesson also includes several Scriptural references for further study / dialog on the subject at hand.Bottom line, I really can't speak highly enough about this devotional. Not only is it appropriate for anyone individually, it would make a great FAMILY devotional, too, providing parents a reliable framework so they can be the spiritual leaders in their families. This book is a home run -- perhaps even a grand slam -- and it earns my highest recommendation.

not bad even for this grown up
somewhat of a nice addition to our much preferred oldie bible story set by maxwell. This bibleforce devotional is more of a modernized view of the bible stories/characters with motivational sections to help push reader to see things like who the real heroes are and to they encourage reader to go out and do good things like helping others and so on.. Although i got this for when my granddaughter is more around 10 yrs old (for book to me is more for pre-teens and up - although it is hard to say what age really given how fast young ones grow up these days but, in my more old fashioned thinking home it is for 10 yrs and up) and because it would go well for after reading the bible story set first, i found myself actually being drawn to reading a bit more of this book than i planned on reading alone when i received it. i like the way it is written to draw in and engage reader into thinking about things as well.overall nice colorful hardcover book and i am more than likely going to buy the other bibbleforce red book since with what i did read already in this devotional version, i didn’t see anything that would make one think the book is trying to brainwash our young ones or mislead its readers..

Great for boys, graphic novel fans, and reluctant readers
We are already big fans of the Bibleforce Bible. My 8-year-old son has been reading independently since he learned to read, and he loves it. So, when I saw they were releasing a devotional, I snatched it up. It was a hit with my son right away, but there is a key difference between the Bible and the devotional. Bibleforce: The First Heroes Bible is almost entirely composed as a graphic novel, whereas The First Heroes Devotional has significantly more text. Parents should keep this in mind when purchasing because it may be a little difficult for young readers to read independently. However, the text devotional is no very long - about five paragraphs. Each devotional consists of graphic novel-style illustrations, a key Bible verse, and two life application sections (Be a Hero and Hero Training). Be a Hero gives kids some ideas for ways they can model hero behavior and Hero Training encourages kids to read a section of the Bible and asks them important guiding questions such as "Yes, being brave can be scary, but who always wins in the end? Find the answer in John 16:33."As a parent and a children's ministry leader, I wholeheartedly recommend this devotional!
