This grill is perfect in everyway.
This is the perfect grill to cook over an open fire. Very large - sturdy - adjustable - swings out and away from the fire while you flip the food ( which is good cause it is hot)We had 14 people over - built a nice fire pit on the ground in a ring in our backyard and grilled 3 dozen oysters on the half shell with garlic butter and cheese at a time and ate them on some small french bread slices. After the oysters, we cooked 16 nice size steak filets all at the same time and still had room for more.We used the - Aoocan Marshmallow Roasting Sticks Set of 12 Extend 45" Smores Sticks for Fire Pit Safe Stainless Telescoping Forks Hot Dog, Campfire, Camping - Multicolor - the big and little kids loved them and used them to do marshmallows and the beer drinkers Really Enjoyed putting some steak strips or shrimp on the sticks and grilling them right over an open fire. It is not just a grill you can put a nice pot of beans or gumbo and swing it away from the fire a bit and just let it slow cook all day. or grill or fry fish or whatever on the grill swing it away from the fire a bit and just let it slow cook all day. The main thing is it adjusts to any height and swings away from the fire when needed. The grill folds up and is easy to put away. THIS IS JUST PURE FAMILY FUN and only limited by wood and your imagination. Now we are planning a family camping trip with this grill I can bring the kitchen with me anywhere. I bought two if I had known it was so big I may have just bought one.... but now I have more options.

Best little grill I’ve owned
My wife and I love this grill. The main pic on this site shows grill upside down with no lip around the edge and I have read reviews where people wish it had one, just flip it over and it’s there. Before setup I drove a 3/4 inch piece of pipe in the ground and then put the rod in the pipe then I took a 2 foot piece of 1/2 inch rebar and put in the horizontal hole and it swivels and works wonderful!

Works great put needs a piece of pipe to work as intended.
I bought this for my home backyard fire pit. Thought it would be fun to make some brats and burgers over an open flame. It's built pretty sturdy. It hold a few burgers and dogs just fine. The description said that the grill can swivel on and off the fire so I assume there would be some mechanism by which the pole would stay fixed and the grill swiveled. Not so. In order to swivel it off the fire you need to turn the whole grill including post. Which then is liable to get loose and tip over. I solved this by putting a 3/4" metal pipe in the ground and putting the pole inside it. Works great. Just have to be aware you'll need a pipe. The pole is also really too short to pound deep into the ground and then still get some good height. I'd give the grill 5 stars if they had included the clearly needed pipe.To be fair, non of the other grills with similar design included a longer pole or a pipe. And any hardware store will sell you a pipe for a few bucks. Overall my family and I enjoy the grill and would recommend it ... plus a pipe :-)

Great grill
I really like this portable grill. It is built well and easy to set up and take down. Also comes with a carrying bag for transport. No complaints whatsoever. Highly recommended.

We have a lakeside fire pit and love to cook over a wood fire
We have a lakeside fire pit and love to cook over a wood fire. The Adjust-A-Grill has worked extremely well for us. The stake simply pounds into the ground for stability and given the ability to raise, lower and rotate the grill away from or over the fire makes cooking a breeze. I mounted the grill upside down so the frame edges face up giving the grill an edge that keeps hot dogs and corn from rolling off and into the fire. We love it.

This Grill was the BEST!!
This Grill was the BEST !!!!!! We took it camping and cooked on it directly and in my cast iron pans.We had no problem with the height. We adjusted the wood fire which was in a fire ring made of stones. Then once we had that how I wanted it we adjusted the grill up or down. I don't cook on flames, I cook over a hot, low fire and coals. We stayed for 3 weeks at our camp and used it every day for breakfast and dinner. It held up under the weight of a coffee pot and a cast iron pan, BUT,,,,, we stabilized it at it's rear corners with the rocks of the fire ring. The only thing was that hot dogs wanted to roll off the edge, but that too can be fixed. You have to put some thought into it.If you are a camper and know how to make things work you will do good with this grill. What we added to our cooking is a Lodge Logic Dutch Oven which we made some of the best bread, biscuits and peach cobbler along with baked potatoes. So get the "Adjust-A-Grill and a "Lodge Dutch Oven " [ we keep a 10" and a 12" but mostly use the 10" for two people] and go camping.

Works good
Works good. The stake is not long enough. When you have the state park cement rings, the stake does not go very high. Need another 12 inches so it is more adjustable.

Awesome product. We didn't have any issues with the length of the bar (we used it for car camping at a Washington State Park). We were cooking directly on the grill and not putting anything heavy on it and found it plenty sturdy with just a few inches pounded in. As other reviewers suggested, we mounted it 'upside down' to allow for a lip around the sides so nothing could roll off. It was easy to get the tension high enough to hold it in place but loose enough that we could swing the grill in and out of the fire easily. Best invention ever....my husband is busy planning to buy these for several of our camping friends and a family member with a backyard fire pit. Would hold up to 8 burgers comfortably....we grilled two good size steaks plus 3 bell peppers plus toasted bread for both of us with room to spare. Larger families might not be able to fit side dishes on the grill along with their mains. I rubbed it with a little olive oil (on a paper towel) and then just swung it over the fire to heat up and dropped our meat directly on...no problems with sticking. A $2 BBQ brush made clean up a breeze. Leave it in the fire for a few minutes after removing your dinner then swing it out and run the brush over both sides and you're done.
