In truth, I haven't used pen and ink since being forced too when at school. (Yes I'm that old!). The desks having a hole in them so as the ink well could sit in there and you dipped the nib of the woooden stemmed pen into the ink and practice joined up writing. Invariably it would scratch the paper and often tear into it. Not a happy childhood memory. However, a few years ago I was asked to sign an important document and the person produced a fountain pen and the sheer joy of signing my name with this pen was tangible. In recent years I have been asked to sign a number of documents and whenever I do I recall being offered that fountain pen, and I knew it was time to lay the ghosts of childhood to rest and purchase a fountain pen of my own. So I researched which pen would best suit me and, based upon the postive reviews, the Scriviener fountain pen seemed to stand out. Having purchased this pen, I have not been disappointed. It is beautiful to look at and the weight of it is perfect. The ink flow to the nib is consistent and the fluidity of the nib on the paper makes for a smooth and easy writing action. Simply signing my name seems to add a creative flourish to ordinary writing tasks. The quality, elegance and design of the pen belies its price point. It is sheer luxury at an affordable price. It is so perefct that it encourages me to write more as opposed to typing everything on a keyboard or on a mobile phone screen. The pen adds a touch of elegance and is wonderfully beautiful. An extremely happy customer.

I would not usually bother with a review ,but this pen is worthy of comment . Firstly ,it is very well made ,looks very expensive ( it ain't that cheap ) ,and oozes quality . Filled the tank with Parker Quink ink .It was immediately used . It is virtually as smooth as a ballpoint .Ink flow is perfect .It feels good in the hand .The cap clicks firmly . I threw out my Lamy as it was pretty awful all round . This pen was a revelation .Gushing over !

I've been writing with fountain pens for over 60 years and this one of if not the best pen I have ever had. Writes beautifully with a nice easy flow. Would highly recommend if you are in the market for a quality pen at a reasonable price.

This stainless steel fountain pen is extremely well balanced in the hand, has a good smooth writing nib and is very well constructed. It also looks good! Unfortunately, my pen had a small fault (I have bought 6 Scriveiner pens in all and this is the only one that was slightly faulty). I telephoned their customer support line and spoke to Dan. He was highly professional and at the end of the conversation stated he’d send a replacement pen. It arrived 24 hours after our chat. One can’t ask for better than that! Definitely a five star company.

Update Dec 2022: I had the pleasure to use this medium nip pen for quite a while now and to compare the experience with Parker fountain pen. I found Scriveiner far away better in terms of presentation, craftsmanship, nip and overall writing experience, especially when signing documents. That is why I decided to change the rating from 3 to 4 stars. If you write quickly, such as when taking notes and signing, I found that the ink flow good if you use the pen regularly. Also depends what is the room temperature when you write - when is warm, the pen may leak a little so I use light pressure when writing. When I don’t use the pen, I place it with the nip down, otherwise the ink will need time to start flowing when start using the pen again. But if I didn't use it for a couple of days the ink dried up in the feed and it had to be washed to get it flowing again, which problem unfortunately exists with both Scriveiner and Waterman’s ink. I found this quite annoying, which was the reason to upgrade my review to 4 stars instead of 5. Also, if you rest the pen lying on the table, again will be needed few scrabbles until the ink flow starts. I currently use Waterman black ink cartridges, because they are much cheaper (£4 for 8 long standard cartridges, black), compared to the Scriveiner ones (£9 for 20 small black cartridges, which are half of the Waterman’s long cartridges size). In relation to the box/ retail packaging, usually I don’t pay big attention as this is just packaging, which you don’t need once you start using the pen. Some of you may argue that is nice touch when giving the pen as present, which I agree with, but for this price I think the box is fairly good and gives nice first impression. Finally, please bear in mind that I am not an expert and not very experienced in writing with fountain pens. Because of this, some of you may argue my review, but so far I am pleased with that purchase. ——— Beautiful, smart design, as shown to the pictures. I will say good price as well. The gift box looks nice and leaves the impression of quality. However, this pen consumes A LOT of ink (using the original Scriveiner cartridge, supplied in the box with the pen) and leaking at times. It is shame because otherwise the pen is really beautiful tool and boost your image as well.

Ordered this pen yesterday and it's just arrived this morning. I spent a bit more because my current pen's barrel it took heavy for me to use with the lid on. Consequently, I keep losing lid! This pen is a dream. It is light and such a pleasure to use. It comes with aperture to use with ink. But has two cartridges if they are your preference. I have arthritis and can no longer fit cartridges into pens. I'm well impressed with this pen. I love the design and it writes smoothly. This woul make a perfect gift . Highly recommend

Was very excited to get this fountain pen. Upon opening I was very impressed with the pen as far as quality, appearance and feel. I opened the insert to get the ink cartridge and bam…2 open villes ..one black one I would assume was blue. No caps on villes ..blue was dried empty and black had a tad bit in it that spilt into my hands. Quality control is crap. They should have received the kings award for biggest failure and disappointment. I will be returning this $120 mistake. Update .. Scriveiner London reached out to me after my one star review. Like I said originally the fountain pen was fantastic but ink and quality control issues soured me… Scriveiner London sent me a new pen and ink without me asking. This blew me away. They obviously do care about customer service and quality control. Now that I have a working pen I can tell you this fountain pen is actually of very high quality, writes extremely smooth and is just stunning in appearance and handling. They really do deserve the Kings Award.

到着時、スペアインクは細い紙袋に入って、化粧箱の中にありました。インクコンバーターは万年筆にすでに装着済みでありました。インクコンバーターが無いと早合点しました。 スペアインクを見ると、やや短くて、充填されているインク量が少な目感があります。インクコンバーターで吸引した時もあまりインクが上がってこないなと思いました。 細字を選択しましたが、やや中字ぽいです。 キャップがかなり重いです。筆記時は本体につけない方がいいかもです。 書き味は良いです。

Ich habe heute den neuen Füller bekommen. Ich habe Tinte eingefüllt, und dann immer mal in längeren Abständen geschrieben. Meine Feder ist breit und der Füller schreibt sooo weich, er gleitet so sanft über das Papier, es ist wirklich eine Freunde damit zu schreiben. Ich habe gleich nochmal den schwarz - goldenen Füller mit beiter Feder bestellt!!!! Dann kann ich je nachdem mit schwarzer oder blauer Tinte schreiben. Und mein Füller ist eine Schönheit!!!!! Jederzeit wieder......
