2009 sophomore album from the British five piece recorded and produced in New York by none other than Mark Ronson. Welcome To The Walk Alone shows the Rumble Strips in a much more widescreen light than their previous offering with parping brass toned down and the FILMharmonic orchestra of Prague drafted in by Owen Pallet (The Arcade Fire, Final Fantasy) to fill this album with incredible cinematic textures and epic arrangements. Excellent Band
I heard one track from this band in the summer and liked it. I had seen one very bad review for this album so was hesitant to spend my hard earned cash on it. However, I found out they were playing live in Poole and went along. I only knew one track but thought they were amazing. One of the best live performances I have seen in a long time. So as a result I immediately bought this album and I haven't been disappointed. Highly recommended!

Good fun lyrics. Some upbeat, some angsty great. Bought with Girls and Weather, got into them after track in 'Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging'

Der zweite Streich der Rumble Strips bringt sie in die Champions League des Pop
"Welcome to the walk alone" heißt die Einladung der Band um Lead-Sänger Charlie Waller und es würde mich schon sehr wundern, wenn die Rumble Strips aus Tavistock, Devon, mit diesem Album alleine bleiben würden. Schon ab dem zweiten Song gibt es große Popsongs mit bestechenden, aufwendig arrangiert Melodien. Wen wundert's, denn kein geringerer als Mark Ronson hat sich dem Projekt angenommen, was zu einem äußerst üppigen Sound der Platte geführt hat. Aufgenommen wurden der Großteil der Tracks nach Beendigung ihrer ersten US-Tour in den Avatar Studios, New York. Lediglich der Gesang wurde in London aufgenommen. Die Orchestrierung wurde von Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy, Arcade Fire) komponiert und in Prag aufgenommen. Die Produktion klingt aussergweöhnlich gut und die Songs sind von einer hohen Qualität. Davon könnte ihr euch bei den Album-Highlights "Dem Girls", "Sweet Heart Hooligan" und dem alles überragende "Daniel" überzeugen. Musikalisch würde ich sie als Mischung aus The Coral und den Razorlights bezeichnen, klingt halt einfach nur viel viel besser.
