Good learning tool for beginners.
Like the way book was written. Starts out with the basics and works its way towards the more technical aspects. Does not overwhelm the reader.

Solid Information
I highly recommend this book for anyone that is like me and knows nothing about hydraulics but wants to gain the intuition to build a basic hydraulic system.

Good information, bad editing
I bought this book to understand the hydraulic systems that I will be working with in my new job. I’ve never used hydraulics before. I have not read the whole book, but the parts that I have read have atrocious grammar and wrong words (‘and’ instead of ‘of’). This makes it very hard to read. The book appears to be self published, so there was probably not much copy editing that went into it. The only reason I’m giving it three stars is that the illustrations of the different valves and hydraulic parts is actually very useful. But even the print version of this book, the pictures are pixelated.

Perfect book for a novice like me. But would be a great reference for any skill level.

This book is very hard to comprehend
The author does not seem to have a good grasp of the English language or sentence structure, which makes the book a hard one to read and comprehend. He uses designations in the text to describe such things as ports (IE: A, B, X) but does not put them on his diagrams... so they are nearly useless (See attached). In the attached picture, the author refers to a "ball" and an "orifice" which I don't see and can't identify in the diagram... This is a very common occurrence in this book. I would not have purchased this book if I had known of these problems, but Amazons sample pages did not reveal this issue.Upon further reading I have noticed that the book has more flaws: 1) The table of contents page numbers are off by several pages. 2) There are missing pieces IE: on page 81 the text refers to a Table 3.4 (possibly the most important info for understanding Solenoid Directional Control Valves) is missing. As an interesting observation, there does not seem to be a publisher listed for this book... I was interested in taking note of the publisher to avoid him in future book purchases!
