Good coffee
Just as ordered. So glad we can still get Senseo pods for our Senseo that we've had for years. Love the coffee!

Excellent Coffee - what a shame they don't make the machine anymore
It's amazingly stupid that Senseo discontinued their incredible coffee maker - I had four of them, and they all eventually had issues - I was able to get them to replace my Supreme model, twice but after the second failure I just gave up, threw in the towel and bought a Keurig and a coffee frother for my cream - a lot of work and the coffee is not really as good but adequate. The last machine they sent me as a replacement was obviously several years old as the included coffee was expired by a year - so I put it in the garage and forgot about it; cleaning out the garage I rediscovered it and my wife said "put it on eBay and see what it brings..." so I did - sold it for $200! (original price was $129 first time I purchased) - what message does that send? Well, I checked and seems lots and lots of "new in box" Senseo's went for $200, one went for $249! SO THERE IS A MARKET and a DEMAND. How Senseo screwed this up, well, I know how - they took the coffee off the market while they sold that coffee division to some other company (keeping the name) and it took about six or more months for it to resurface on Amazon, meanwhile the coffee went from less than $4 for 18 pods to more than double that (again, DEMAND!) But it's not the same coffee, trust me - that put the nail in their coffin. So now I'm a Keurig slave, would give anything to have Senseo back in my life but apparently money is far more important to them than satisfied customers who ARE WILLING TO PAY. Sad, but oh so true. Bye bye Senseo, we will miss you.

Love the pods
I’m so glad these pods are available. This is just the size I need for my machine. And the coffee tastes great!

Delicious and good value
I have been using Senseo machines since they were first available for sale in the United States. Senseo pods kind of disappeared from the grocery shelves when the Keurig thing came out. And then they were quite expensive if you tried to order them from Saralee, who was the distributor at that time. I switched to Melitta pods probably 10 years ago but now they’ve gotten so expensive for their dark roast. Finding this vendor and this particular strong pod… I am delighted with my purchase!

Drink of the gods
I consider myself very lucky, I am a degenerate caffeine addict, and this is a very costly habit. I walked out of a $7/day cappuccino habit to brewing my own coffee, which was slightly cheaper. When I discovered pods, I tried every premium brand I could find, but none really pleased me.Then I ran into the Senseo Douwe Egberts Dark Roast Coffee Pods at Target. Not only they were exactly what I wanted, but they cost half as much as my next candidate. The problem: limited availability, you never find more than one or two bags at Target, and it is not sold anywhere else here. Since my wife works at Target she got used to buy most of their allocation right off the shelf, to avoid the risk of running out of my stash and having to deal with her degenerate caffeine addicted husband going through withdrawal.I was very happy to find these here in Amazon, even happier when I noticed that if I bought enough of them, the cost is identical to what I pay here, and the shipping is free. The day I received my first order I held in my hands more of these pods than what was available for sale at the whole COUNTY that day. Oh yeah.I have done bulk orders through Amazon twice, and I kept buying from Target. Amazon wins. Timed properly I will never have to worry about running out of my supply, and there is even an option to have it as a subscription, so I would not even have to bother with making the order every month or so.This is really good stuff, some people find it bitter, but to me it tastes just right. Also, it helps me keep it down to 3-4 cups a day. If I was drinking drip coffee I would be drinking 5-6 cups a day easily.

Great for convenient coffee--not home roast!
Sure, Sarah Lee and the pholks at Philips think this baby produces the best coffee you'll ever taste. It doesn't. The snotty coffee folks, like myself, roast our own coffee and it is utterly superior. However it is a royal PITA to tote fresh beans into the office and I'm the only one willing to go to that much trouble for coffee in my office. To solve this little problem, I purchased a Senseo and these pleasant Douwe Egberts Dark pods! It's a sturdy machine, completely employee-proof, and quite tidy. The coffee it produces is far better than anything that comes in a can and certainly will give Starbucks a run for their $6 venti's.Think of the DE pods as an easy way to get fresh, hot, pleasant coffee in about 30 seconds. Use two pods, one dark and one medium for a fuller flavor profile or, if you're a low-caf freak, do one decaf and one caf.I agree with another reviewer that you've gotta pre-warm the mug you're using if you like hot coffee-and the best way to do this is with some leche in the microwave. One final tip which out to assuage some of the folks who think the DE's are weak:Run a few seconds of hot water through the machine without a pod inside. This gets the metal plates wet and hot. A good thing. Put your pods on the wet plates and close the machine. Let it sit for a few seconds. This lets the coffee get wet and swell a bit. This is called pre-infusion in the espresso trade and if you pull your 8 oz of pleasure now, it will taste pretty darned good.-J
