These replacement filters are expensive, but in this 3-pack the price is as low as I've found, for the LG brand itself.Fit is perfect, as expected. I generally replace these reasonably soon after the refrigerator begins to blink 'replace me' - I'm not sure if that is based upon usage (gallons that have been processed by the filter) or simply a certain number of days since the last filter was replaced. For that reason I don't feel the need to replace the filter immediately once it starts blinking, but I do it within a few weeks (at most). Most recent interval for me was 12 months.I had previously purchased the single filter package, but when I came here to re-order it, I found the price had increased. After some searching I came across this 3-pack, which resulted in a per-filter price that was about what I had paid previously. I"m comfortable with that.

Admittedly these are expensive for 3 filters, but buying a package of 3 is the price of 2 bought individually. I have also purchased a knock off brand and had a mixed experience. At times the knock off made the water taste like garlic. At other times it was ok. However, when I realized that I was avoiding the fridge water fountain, and my GF commented that the ice tasted bad with the knockoffs, I decided to return to the LG. I will say that with my first LG filter, I replaced it after 1 year and not the 6 month recommended. I had no issues, but decided a year was long enough. So my philosophy now is to use the LG filter for 1 year, and to buy 3 at a time. I think I can afford $34/yr.As an interesting aside, I cut the LG filter and the knock off filter in half to see the internals. The LG had a thicker activated carbon cylinder (roughly 30% thicker). The white prefilter was also thicker and completely covered the carbon cylinder in the LG. All said, i was surprised the knock off filters was as similar as it was, but i can taste the difference. This three pack is the best value if going for OEM filters. Sure, there are much cheaper aftermarket options available, but considering these filters last me 9-12 months (our water is already quite good from the city) the cost per month is very low. The primary task is removing chlorine odor from the water in my case, so filters tend to last quite a long time. Even after 11 months on my existing filter, the filter still delivers strong flow and great flavor. Changed just to keep on top of it. In the past, I have used cheaper aftermarket filters with some undesirable results in terms of build quality or how long the filter maintained flow after a few months. I like to stick with OEM.The delivered filters were legitimate, complete with the 'hidden' LG watermark in the logo only seen with a bright light source. Not a knockoff.

I bought some non-LG filters, which came with a set of very specific instructions on how to install/remove them. They were not the same shape as the heads on the LG filters, but they worked. Unfortunately when removing the second one (so a year had passed), I forgot it had special rules, and I ended up snapping off the receiving end inside the refrigerator, and the whole water hose had to be replaced by an appliance specialist (it winds from the door, around to the back of the fridge where it attaches to the water source). So I ended up with the opposite of saving a few bucks. The LG-branded filters aren't cheap, but they fit in and come out easy, and they do work. 4 stars because I think they're overcharging on purpose, but the product works just fine.

I purchased this when we got our new refrigerator and went with LG brand to be sure they were right. The first one installed easily and worked fine. But when that one needed replacing, neither of the other two fit securely and both leaked. These were not cheap but it had been months since I’d purchased it and didn’t feel I could return it. Very disappointing quality.Update to review: it turns out that our new refrigerator had a defect that has now been corrected. My apologies for blaming the filters.

Some time ago I purchased a 3-pack Glacier Fresh water filter for my LG refrigerator. We installed the first one and the water tasted awful. After several weeks of use, I installed the second Glacier Fresh and, sure enough, the water still tasted awful. Lesson learned: I recently purchased an OEM LG water filter 3-pack and, guess what, the water tastes drinkable and sweet. Not sure what they put in the Glacier Fresh filter, but from now on I'll grit my teeth, pay a lot more, and get the LG filter. Am I the only one with this experience?Guajolote

Performs as one would expect. We didn't think it necessary to change the filter (after 2 years!) but the water slowed coming out of the fridge and the ice cubes were "layered" because the dispenser was timed and the water was coming out so slowly. Once we changed the filter those problems were corrected. I don't drink cold water but my husband says it tastes much better. Who knew!Be sure to pinch the grips to remove the filter cover. That was the one problem we couldn't figure out.

This filter passed 3 different testing by NSF which ensures the water filter provides the best tasting, clear, healthy water for the user. It is more expensive than most other filters, but most other filters are not NSF certified, so their filtering service is questionable. A nice additional feature, I noticed my ice cubes come out completely clear.

Last time I bought AQUA CREST AQF-FF40 but did not fit on my LG fridge so I decided to buy this.

Original parts from LG. More expensive but do not wish to risk warranty by using a generic product. There is an odd taste to the water, but hoping it will dissipate as more water is filtered.
