Fun & Easy
As a Japanese Language teacher I'm always looking for new games for my students to play. In the past I have used Uno cards to create various games. While the game play can be similar to uno, the cards were much different.First the quality of the product: I felt there was a higher quality to these cards than some games I have purchased in the past. They have a nice texture to them that will last more than a semester or two.Second, the imagery: There is a variety of action photos, drawings, icons and charts. It does not feel so childish that I would not use it with an adult class, and not so boring that I wouldn't use it for children. It is a good balance.Third, the use of Japanese script: For true beginners, learning to read is a challenge that takes more than a few weeks to master. This game provides romaji (Japanese written in Latin letters) support in smaller font under the larger Japanese script. It helps that the Japanese script is colorful and is confined to hiragana and katakana with only a few of the most basic kanjiFourth, the game: While the playing of the cards is similar to uno and other such card games, this game requires the students to ask a question each time they play a card. For true beginners the images on the cards give them the opportunity to use new skills with a provided vocabulary. For more advanced students, they can use the question as a starting point and ask more elaborate questions. Even the answers are provided to help teach responses.I appreciate this card game. There are times when I'm asked to give a brief lesson at schools. This is a game that I can use for such purposes. and it will make a nice reward for students at the end of a long session or unit.If I could change anything, I would want to have a larger sized set. The cards are roughly the size of regular playing cards. If I had a larger teacher set I could hold it up for the class. Yet I also like this small size because I can take it to a group event without hauling a large suitcase of manipulatives. With our current global situation, playing card games may be on the back burner, but I still feel these cards can be utilized. For online courses, or in person, the teacher can display the card using a projector. The questions on the cards are engaging and the students should interact will with them.As a language teacher with over 13 years of experience teaching Japanese, I highly recommend this game as a supplement for classes.

Conversational Uno
This card game is a fantastic way to help Novice level students practice basic, high-frequency questions along with common vocabulary topics! It probably works best in a classroom setting but could function as a tutoring tool. The game’s rules (which were included in multiple languages) are basically the same as Uno, but each of the number cards has a question in French that the player has to ask the next person. I love how the cards make asking and answering questions out loud easy. The cards give all the pieces necessary for students to form questions as well as answers. The answer words are color-coded to match appropriate options when there are different ways to answer a question (like with weather expressions).*A fun twist to speed the game up and make it a little more competitive:To play with Intermediate level students, you can add a rule that the player who has a number card must first ask the question without showing the card, and the first person to answer the question appropriately gets the next turn. This game is also available in Spanish, German, and Japanese.

Cute card game
My granddaughter and I play this game in Spanish quite frequently. She is partially bilingual, with more high comprehension and lower production, but she does enjoy playing this game. The pictures are vibrant and clear and the cards are sturdy. The only drawback for us is that the vocabulary is that of Spanish in Spain, not Latin American Spanish. She has never heard the word "paella", but "pupusa" or "tostada" or "ceviche" she would recognize. Or if "tortilla" were labeled "tortilla española" since her only exposure to the word "tortilla" is to the Mexican version, very different from "tortilla española." Or if "la Sagrada Familia" were also labeled "la iglesia" or "la catedral". Or if the picture for cake labeled "tarta" also included "pastel" or "bizcocho". I was really taken aback by the word "bacon" for "bacon", as I have only heard and used "tocino" or "panceta" and have never seen "bacon" in any written material. And at any rate the word should be written "beicon" if it is borrowed from English. The makers of this game did manage to include both the Spanish words and the Latin American variants for the words "coche"/"carro" and "ordenador"/computadora"; why not expand that to include other obvious omissions? I was surprised by the focus on Spanish from Spain since the box the game comes in shows a "nopal" (cactus) and a stereotypical Mexican sombrero on the front cover. On the positive side it has given me a chance to explain to her that there are different versions of words in Spanish and in English.

So perfect for building vocabulary
I love the packaging and the quality is very good. You can pop it in your purse and practice at the hair salon like I did today or sit on the couch and review alone. I have yet to play the game but it seems well concieved and really fun. You can easily learn on your own with this product.
