Exalting Jesus in Philippians (Christ-Centered Exposition Commentary)

I use this amazing tool to help me with sermon schedule and prep. I always use the classics reformed commentaries, however I always start with this series. Platt and the team did a great job summarizing the classics commentators in a everyday language.English is not my native language and this material is clear enough for me. God bless the team so they can finish the whole Bible . . . Then translate to Brazilian Portuguese ;-)

I’m using this book to teach my Sunday School book. It is easy to follow. The writing is great. I highly recommend whether you want to do a personal Bible study or teach on Philippians. I’m a fan of John MacArthurs commentaries. This book isn’t as in-depth as MacArthurs commentary but it is not too far off. It hits on all the main points.

“Exalting Jesus” in Philippians has commentary from Tony Merida and Francis Chan, and provides food for both the head and the heart, in light of the Bible’s master narrative. Some of my favorite parts are:• “Beneath all our sins is a lack of joy in Christ.”• C. S. Lewis said friendships are discovered when you say, “What, you too?! Excellent commentary. Well researched and very practical. Interesting to see some of the applications of certain passages. In studying Philippians, each writer had varied opinions on what Paul is saying to this group of Christian and this commentary was no different. I enjoyed reading this exposition and thought it was trustworthy in its interpretation.

I have enjoyed every commentary in this series. Not overbearing, yet explains the text well. Good applications.
