Great razor
When I first started to shave, it was with a much older version of a Braun or Philips Norelco - it's been so long since I had an electric razor that I forgot which - but I didn't forget how easy it was to maintain.Since then over the years I've used mostly manual razors like the Mach 3, and briefly Dollar Shave Club trying to cut costs. With a poor quality or dull razor, it's way too easy to irritate my neck. For a while, I even tried a shavette razor. It's difficult to balance speed with a close shave. As a student, deprived on sleep, my mantra was to shave within every 3 days or so - but I wanted to be able to do something quick enough and cheap enough that I could shave every morning without taking the time to wet shave. What brought me to the Series 3 was the style, price point (both of the razor itself and the cost of replacement heads), and that this version comes with a charging/cleaning base. When I first started using it, I didn't get very great shaves because my skin was not used to electric and my technique was sub-par. Second week forward, I get great, consistent shaves. This does not get as close on my neck as the razors did, which leaves only a little more stubble than usual and something only I would notice, slight as it is. I shave every morning with this, and it never takes more than a couple minutes. I recommend that you use a technique of starting on your neck, mouth, and cheeks in that order. As with many electric razors, including those from the barber shop, the first thing you cut is the best cut - and that's why I make that cut the most difficult area. Finally, it does truly make a difference if you wash your face/shower before you shave. Wet or moist hair doesn't feed into the comb/razor as well, so it tends to take much longer to cut. Do it 10 or more minutes after you wake up in the morning before the shower. I also use a good face lotion (Nivea) after I shower and that prevents any dryness or irritation (this hasn't been a problem even if I don't).My skin is not particularly sensitive, in fact, fairly average all around. I cannot speak to whether this would be a good pick if you have sensitivities. I can speak that this is a great razor and I'm very happy I made the investment to get it. When you're doing your shopping and comparing models, I want to point out that the series 3 may be the entry level in the lineup (this particular being the high end of the entry level), but it's not a compromise. It doesn't feel basic. This feels and works well and exactly what you would expect for your investment, if not more.I give this 5 stars and shave on.

Nice razor. I like it.
This is superior to my last Remington. I've had it about two weeks. It looks to be of quality, fits nicely in my hand and I've found it to be comfortable, fairly close shave.I'm not a big guy (5-7, 170 with average-sized hands) and this feels almost small in my hands. No big deal but if you're a guy with big hands this might feel tiny.I love how it's a quiet shave (my Remington was loud), it's very comfortable (no razor burn) and it cuts reasonably close. Not perfect smoothness but at the end of the day, my beard isn't incredibly bad either. Hard to explain.I take off the head of the shaver and rinse it and tap out the whiskers.I was surprised to learn the cutter is attached in the screen, it's not on the body of the razor. I then brush the top of the body of the razor with the brush, let the screen dry and re-attach.Once or twice a week I clean it with the cleaning station. Set it in, click the button on top of the system by the bottom of the razor and it first creates this whirring sound for a couple of minutes to clean, stops and then it quietly cleans for 4 hours. If it doesn't break down and keeps cutting well and lasts me 5 - 7 years I'll be happy. To replace the battery (I haven't had to do this, I just wanted to know how so I read the manual), you have to unscrew the sides of the razor it appears and then use a screwdriver blade to pop the batteries out of the battery container, put in new ones and reassemble.Hopefully it will prove to be as easy as it looks. I once had a razor I had to take to a shop to have them do this and that was expensive. Nice a customer can do this themselves.Have any questions, ask and I'll answer.

Lasting Operation with great Clean and Charge
Purchased on June 6, 2017, this was my first Braun shaver and I was impressed by the shaving and the cleaning system. I started a beard at the same time and ordered a separate Braun beard trimmer. I didn't need it. I was able to use the sideburn trimmer for all of the beard touch-ups.Over time, after many cleaning cartridges and one replacement of the shaver head, the cleaner started to not recharge well and the battery would run down in the last year (2020). I would use the cord for recharging when that happened.Because I used the "Long Hair Trimmer" almost daily, I finally managed to snap off the trimmer, which is retained with a spring mechanism. I was able to restore it the first time that happened, but the second and last time I could not re-attach the trimmer successfully. After 3 years of good use, I was satisfied to obtain another Braun as its replacement in October 2020.

Lasts about a year
I bought this unit about two years ago, and it works great, shaves great, cleans itself, charges no problem. The only issue I had was with the trimmer on the back side; once that breaks - and it's held together with fragile little plastic pieces - then the unit doesn't sit in the base properly, and therefore, doesn't clean or charge quite the same. I liked it enough to buy it again - and the cleaning cartridges are still the same.

Elektrorasierer
