Great content / typo on spine
Love this guide but sadly the spine reads “Devon and Corwall”

An excellent guide
Purchased this book for a week long holiday with my partner. We arrived to the area with only a vague idea of what we wanted to do and really appreciated the suggestions in the book.A particular highlight were the driving tours, we ended up doing a few and had great fun. We also found the descriptions of towns/beaches/restaurants pretty spot on. Cornwall was a mixed bag of polished tourist villages and rougher spots, the book did a great job of helping us navigate through them. There were a few small inaccuracies when it came to opening times, ticket prices, but such things are easily confirmed with a simple internet search

Disappointed
I'd say this is a good guide for someone who's never been to Cornwall or Devon. It gives the reader a brief insight into the main touristy hotspots. I've been to Cornwall a couple of times, so was hoping for something more inspiring / in depth / off-the-beaten-track / lesser-known / top-tips etc, which I didn't find.

Looking for inspiration!
Bought this prior to visiting Cornwall again this year. As someone who visits Cornwall fairly often I wanted to find some inspiration and visit some different areas/sites. As with other Lonely Planet guides it’s set out in a really accessible way and is easy to navigate. Great for someone who doesn’t like spending too long reading up on and planning things beforehand, but also great for those who do.Great for finding walks and the revision to account for Covid restrictions/closures was useful. Also helped to plan shorter trips to visit small seaside towns with nice beaches. Not used for Devon yet cannot comment on the content for this area, but if it’s anything like the rest of the book I imagine it’s great.

An overview only - otherwise poor
I bought this book for our staycation in Cornwall. Very disappointed. It really is at an overview level and frankly hopeless and indeed misleading when you are there. As a good example - see if you can find a review of Carlyon Bay beach - which we found to be the best in the are of St. Austell - for car parking, facilities and space. By the same measure, if you were to read the review of Mevagissey you would think it was not worth visiting. In the same place there is ZERO advice on where to park. A handy hint would be to avoid the first private car park - on the left - and proceed to the nearby Chapel area and see if the local authority car park has spaces - its a LOT cheaper. Also no mention of Par Market where you can find the venerable local and national hero, Harry Billinge collecting for the Normandy Memorial - he's been doing that for years, so no excuse for not mentioning him. I rest my case.

Gives information about places only the locals usually know
A great aid for planning a holiday, or just looking at the feasibility of a holiday in either county. Plenty of yip[s and and town maps but they can be a bit small. I have not tried the App that can be downloaded but that would useful whilst on holiday. For the money a very useful guide of two counties that a chock full of interesting places to visit.
