Berkley Trilene Big Game Monofilament Fishing Line

Back in the day, Ande pink, was the only line I used. I discovered clear ,Big Game line and used it primarily for tuna and shark. Now I use this line for all my fishing. (if i'm not using braid) I feel the line is manufactured to high standards,and is not "over rated" (Making a thicker line and labeling it to a lighter test.

Good line and durable in shallow water

I have the 12 lb 1000 yard (or so) line. I recently got into fishing, and so far, this line has not failed me. All of the catches I've gotten, I've been able to reel them in no problem. Of course, it is monofilament, so there's going to be a lot of stretch, and a lot of memory. So expect that! But for a beginner, this is the way to go! I personally like 12 lb because its strong, and its still on the lower diameter side, so its less visible in the water. The heaviest catch i've had was a 2.5 lb bass (somewhere around 15-20 inches long), and the line held up just fine. I'm sure it would hold up well even for 3 lb or 4 lb or more if I was lucky enough to find and catch one of that size.

I've always been happy with the Trilene mono and in this case use it to tie my own leaders. Cost is good and I will continue to purchase this brand.How I review:When I review a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. You can’t beat this stuff for the price. With all the rage of braid or fluoro this stuff goes overlooked. Good stretch for fights. Casts great. I got hung up the other day and couldn’t even break this line, wrapped it around my arm and started walking backwards to try and break it, like HARD. Lol and it wouldn’t break, instead my chatterbait broke lose and I got it back, the line didn’t even have much abrasion on it! Lol this stuff is on almost all my baitcasters from 10lb-12lb on MH rods, to 25-30lb on swimbait rods. Love it.

Braid versus monofilament. Every angler will have their opinion. In my case, husband versus wife. I swear by monofilament and he by braid. I recently purchased this for fishing as I am on my own in the mono department. Used it on my light salt water fishing reel and on a heavy river fishing reel. On both reels the line has held up great. Line does not deform once a bigger fish is caught and did not break either. The line is easy to work with. I will choose this brand again when shopping for monofilament!

The product performs exactly as advertised. I use it as my main line so I am ready for whatever size fish is thrown at me around where I fish. The price is unbeatable too, as the other lines are grossly overpriced.Definitely recommend it.

Superb line, really can't fault this fishing line it went onto the reels without any bother and when using it there was no kinks when either casting or reeling in.
