Most people knock this because it doesn't have a switch. That really didn't bother me; I just got an aftermarket part that plugs into the socket and has a switch built in. Very cheap, easy, and clean fix.It also doesn't have any integrated cable management. Again, a cheap fix with aftermarket parts.What really started throwing me was the heat. This is an LED light. It shouldn't put off any noticeable heat, but it really gets just as hot as halogen lamps I've had. I don't need another burn hazard or energy drain in the shop - that's why I got an LED light in the first place.The final straw was when it started sagging. This doesn't come with mounting hardware. I mounted on a wall of the shop by driving two screws into a stud and two screws into heavy duty wall anchors. I've seen TVs mounted with less holding power than I used for this little guy. And yet, within 60 days, it was no longer hanging level. It's not a heavy lamp, but the force to move the joints is pretty significant. I'm guessing that force applied when the arm was extended from the wall (acting like a giant lever) caused something in the mounting system to fail. There's probably a work around, but really, how many workarounds should you have to go through to get one product to work?It's too late for me to return it, so I just junked the light. I went to the camera and video section, picked up a wall mounted boom arm and an LED light. It will give me better capability, for roughly the same price.

I installed over my knife grinder work station, ok light out put, but you have to plug/unplug each time as it has no on/off switch . I ordered a plug switch so as to be able to leave it plugged in. Very short cord, had to use extension cord to get to the the wall receptacle. Not heavy duty so will see how long it last.

Solid construction. Bought two mainly for the articulated arms. Removed the light on one and attached a clipboard to the light bracket for cutlists to the right of my Miter Saw. That application worked better than I had envisioned. The light isn't that bright. Would probably be alright for general lighting in a trailer, but definitely not for task lighting. There is also no on/off switch for the lights. So they either need to be plugged-in and unplugged to use them, or a plugged into a switchable outlet. Would purchase again for the arms, but not the light.
