Excellent Lighting Kit, Well worth the investment, but read my review for plus and minus
This is an ongoing review on the Diagon Alley Lego Lighting kit by Briksmax. This is an excellent kit that arrives in a small box with all the components clearly labelled in clip-lok bags each with their respective part numbers (i.e. A01, A02, E02 etc). There are three manuals each with pictures which cover all the four shops/buildings. Included in the kit, are LEDs, Wires, Lego Bricks, tiny double sided sticky pads, 4 x AAA battery holders, and 4 x USB Connectors, including a "receiver" unit for the Remote Control which is NOT supplied with a battery.I will update this review as I progress, but I got my Briksmax kit on 18th February and luckily my Diagon Alley set arrived the same day direct from Lego.I have broken my review into sections - Positive, Negative, Suggestion, Typo and Updates. Do not take the Negative as a reason for NOT buying as, as these are just my own thoughts and niggles, and realistically are NOT a reason to avoid.Positive:01. The installation whilst fiddly makes the entire shops look fantastic, the lighting is very well done and well worth installing, even though routing the wires is a chore, its worth the effort and great to bring the complexity of the buildings and its features to life.02. Each building uses its only battery box/USB connection, so each is powered independently.Negative:01. The instructions are laid out for each from when each building is "complete", this makes it over complicated since you have to remove bricks/disassemble parts/bits to go back and do the cabling, it would be more sensible to provide two sets of instructions: one for when its complete, and one for when its being assembled to ease cabling whilst it is built.02. I was scratching my head trying to work out where the wires went and the routing of the cables and plugs, sometimes the images take a wire outside the walls, and then you only discover 10 steps later where that wire is going, so it is possible to find parts of it very confusing. Images are certainly helpful and I can see they have tried to do a similar process with the images like Lego to make it easy to follow, but its over-complicated by a manual that is aimed to add it after build completion and there are some images that need better clarity over wiring.Suggestions to make things cleaner01. Wires are also taken outside the walls and run down the sides, this is fine, however maybe some sort of flat drainpipe cover or something could be fabricated to cover the wires to hide them and disguise them?02. One remote receiver is included for the remote, which has 4 connection sockets, to use the remote you would need to plug each building into one socket on the receiver, if you wanted to display them opposite each other - 2 on left and 2 on right and form a cobbled street, there is no way to use one receiver to complete that objective and would need two. I contacted them via email, I was advised that these would be available to buy from April/May 2021 at additional cost, but as yet no price is available. This way you could connect 2 light sets to one receiver and the other two buildings to the other receiver (same channels but different sockets), they confirmed this has been tested and works fine. However there are no wires included in the kit I can see long enough to connect all four buildings in a straight line to one receiver. On the positive side each building uses its only battery box/USB connection, so each is powered independently.03. It would be useful to supply 4 manuals instead of 3, one manual for each building, as they have used two manuals to cover all four buildings and one building starts in manual 01 and continues in manual 02. This is not a problem, but would make it neater! The third manual is taken up with connecting the remote.Manual Typo?01. I got to building 03 (Fortesques/Flourish and Blotts) and from the manual, it told me to use wire (I think it was A04), however I had none left, when I read back through all the manuals, at no point had i use the wrong wires, and when i checked ahead I found i only needed 2 x A03 wires, and I had 3 left, so used an A03, which turned out to be the correct length, maybe this was a manual misprint.Update: March 2021.I have now completed the fourth building Weasley Wizard Wheezes, as the shop for this one is the largest build there is more wiring to do, and this is no easy feat, I had a small disaster which one bulb (A24) is a slow flash blue LED and due to the location of the wiring a few wires all seem to congregate in a small area and one thing that occurred was one of the two wires that feeds that LED was accidentally cut by the brick above, so I had to painstakingly 'solder' the wire - no easy feat when they are the thickness of cotton, luckily this worked. Photos for this will be added soon. Pictures for the 4th shop to followOverall:Well worth the money and the investment, I now have to look to getting a display cabinet to show the completed models off!

Brings the Lego set to life
Great product and really adds to the lego set. The instructions are very easy to follow but the wiring itself is perhaps a little tricky for younger children.

Perfect Lights
Got these for my other half for Christmas along with the Lego set. He loved it!! It was very intricate (which he enjoyed) to build into the Lego. The finished product looks amazing and the use of the remote makes for east turning on and off. If youβre looking for lights for your Diagonal Alley then look no further!! Just donβt forget to order your batteries too!

Nice idea, difficult to execute
Returned as the installation is much more complicated than other lighting kits that are available, though I did like the idea of a remote control! 3 stars as I think it would be a good product just far too fiddly for me.

Bringing it to life!
Adding the lighting kit is a challenge, but to be expected. Nicely packaged and very clear instructions - we are one down 3 to go! Arrived quickly and I have a very happy teenager!
