Easy to digest
Liked the book, was easy to digest, diagrams were most helpful. Chapters were to the point, examples were useful too.

Good book but quality could be better
The book is a great introduction to computer networking. I supplemented it with ChatGPT to diver deeper into the concepts (which I didn't expect the book to do since it is aimed at beginner). My biggest gripe is with the quality and accurateness. The book has quite a few typos, isn't formatted that great, and actually has some mistakes. For example in the TCP section, it states the 4-way handshake is:1. (Client) FIN2. (Server) FIN-ACK3. (Server) FIN4. (Client) ACKWhen the 2nd step is actually just an ACK (the FIN bit is not set on the TCP segment). There is also a plug for the author's online course at the end of a chapter - I'd expect this to be at the beginning/end of the book instead. It felt like an advert. If the author reads this, please take it as helpful criticism as I overall enjoyed the read and it provided my with great value. It'd be great to get a revision with these issues addressed.

It presents signposts to further study
This book presented signposts to further study. The earlier chapters were satisfactory apart from diagrams which were hard to decipher ( particularly the IP addresses allocated to each device) even when read in calibre.. The later chapters relied upon familiarity with the cisco operating system command line and the download of a Packet tracer either for Windows or Linux. I did not succeed in downloading the Packet Tracer for ubuntu. Even if you do succeed in installing this packet tracer, to be able to use this tool would require finding suitable tutorial.s. Just giving a address from which to download the Tracer and expecting on that basis for you to apply it to , I thought, several challenging exercises was to me unrealistic. That is way I think this book is signposts to further study. However I found the book on sub-netting in this series very helpful ( it omits a lot of detail) but the gist is there.
