These tools are said to be teak, but look a lot like acacia. I can't tell for sure. But I can say that they have a lacquer/varnish or some other coating on them and I would not trust cooking with them. Teak does not have a sheen to it when uncoated. Water does not bead up on natural, untreated teak. Given the history of lack of attention to food safety with products coming from China, I will be returning them. Can't trust the manufacturing process or what is said about the product.

These "wooden spoons" as the box they come in describes them, are actually what are known as "spurtles" and they are both quite beautiful (these were listed as "new teak") and quite well made and durable. I have no doubt that with a decent amount of care they will last a very long time. Please note, they are not dishwasher safe and must be hand washed in warm soapy water and left to air dry. A very good value for a reasonable price to have tools that come in so handy in everyday use. A hole in each handle allows them to be hung on an appropriate rack to add to ease of use and attractive display. Made in China and a fine product.

These are wonderful!!! I don’t know what I have ever done without them. Better than any spoon I have and I love how the narrow one fits into my jam jar and spreads with little effort. Stirring with these, straining with the large one is a new experience.

I saw this item on an infomercial and looked on Amazon and low and behold they had them. My husband says I love to spend money when he saw the purchase but I made a believer out of him. We use these everyday. They are the best oldest invention ever. Must have for any kitchen.

I can’t say enough good things about these! I have bought several sets over the years and keep buying as they wear out.Recommend them to anyone!

Very nicely made. Sturdy and very functional. Rounded ends make reaching edge of pots easy. Finish is very nice. Easy to clean and dries quickly.

Package arrived on time. Beautiful wood, no blemishes. Getting used to using a spurtle. Purchased with other wooden teak kitchen tools, they look really nice on display when not being used.

These seem to be very good quality and they made the boss happy-need I say more.

I've been trying to use these for some time now, they look pretty on the kitchen counter but they are quite thick so when one's attempting to flip a crêpe or lift a fried egg out of the pan etc etc, the tool doesn't slide under, 'cause it's too thick ... 1 star for practicality, 4 for beauty
