Pocket Havamal Paperback – January 5, 2016

This book is pretty good. Remember that this is a translation of a poetic book. I'm not an expert, but it seems as if it is Old English, which reads a lot differently than Modern English on either side of the Atlantic.

This is a perfect little book! It is pocket sized - 5.8 x 3.9 x 0.3 inches - handy to carry with you anywhere. There are three different covers (I got three of the black cover) and well formatted with a good-sized font for reading. Some extra pages in the back for your own notes too! It will be a great stocking stuffer and such a reasonable price that you can afford to get a few to donate to a raffle. This book is one of the things that people are always mentioning with the phrase, "Wouldn't it be a good idea if someone did this!" And it's Amazon Prime, so you get it fast with no shipping cost if you are signed up for Prime. Thank you Carrie - nice work!!! I will be getting more of these.

Nice size to put in your pocket and carry with you. I've taken mine on hikes and when stopping for a break it's a good way to sit and think about the words written down.

I found this book to be useful for focusing on the stanzas while mobile or at work.

I think this is another wonderful book introducing people to the magic world of runes. I am excited for others to begin this issues

The size is perfect. It fits nicely in my back pocket so I can take it anywhere. There are some spots where the language can be troubling, but that’s likely due to the age of the translation. For the most part, however, it is convenient and understandable. I highly recommend it, especially as a gift for heathen members of the military.

I bought this for my boyfriend and he loves it. He often works out of town and this pocket guide has been perfect as a travel companion. It tucks away nicely and does not take up very much room. There are errors in the translation, such as letters left off of words and letter being swapped around, but it is still a nice piece. Would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in studying the Hamaval.

I liked this version of the Havamal very much- it's so small I can take it with me every time I need a little consultation, and the simple design makes sure it doesn't draw too much attention when it's in the bag. The cover is very smooth, and I like the font it's been printed in- with lots of spaces on the sides so I can write down my thoughts on the topic of the stanzas. Even if it is not my favorite translation of the Havamal, it still is a good one, and I can honestly recommend this book for carrying with you on your daily ways.
