James Beard's All-American Eats: Recipes and Stories from Our Best-Loved Local Restaurants

Wow, this is an amazing find. Made the St. Elmo's Crab Mac and Cheese last night, adjusted just one ingredient (used 8 oz regular Gouda and 8 oz Smoked Gouda, instead of all Smoked Gouda), and, I must say, this is hands down THE best mac and cheese we've ever had. Many other great recipes make this a must for your cookbook collection. Outstanding!

What a beautiful book! The photography really provides a great sense of place and the book feels like a trip across the country without ever leaving home. The historical tidbits are great reads and there is an incredible amount of content. The recipes are fun, crowd pleasing, classic!

Enjoyed the combination of listed restaurants and recipes. I heard the review of this book on NPR, so I ordered the book. I'm glad I did!

Great book. What's not to love about James beard? Will be a staple in my household.
