Soo happy I pulled the trigger on this pick up.
I am really happy with this pick up. I was going to spend more than double the price for a hot pick up and was worried that this pick up wouldn’t have Enough Oomph in the bridge and would be anemic with the 62 neck pickup that I replaced a few months back on my Mexican Fender. Anyways this pick up had the dark copper (almost brown) winding that came on the 62 original neck pick up that sounds soo good. I raised it a little higher and it is a perfect marriage with my 62 American original p bass neck pick up. Sounds fantastic! The only thing that galled me was that it did not come with the sponge underneath. I had to use the old one. You can solo it on it’s own if you want that bridge J bass sound.

Smooth and deep, versatile, high quality, sturdy, affordable buy these.
Great low end! Many J bass pickups lack the bass presence that this pickup achieves. Beefy and smooth. I will say, when used with 250k pots there's very little growl, with 500k it's much more present, just depends on what you like. Use .223 capacitor for a more vowely sound with the tone off, or use .473 cap for a smoother more buttery dub-tone. Magnets aren't too strong, this pickup can sound very musical quite close to the strings. Get the polarity and phase right, they're quiet enough with both pickups on( out of phase with these is exactly that super mid-growl Geddy sound. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure it's the key to his tone, try it out or not) very fun vintage-style pickup, very versatile, great low end! Cheap to boot!

Great pickup...but
Great sound, but lacked the foam and screws. I'm doing a Frankenstein PJ bass and thought they would be included. Does sound nice and the price was definitely good.

Broken right out of the bag
One of the leads was completely severed from the pickup. Made me wonder if this is actually a used item. I could probably fix it, but I shouldn't have to. The most basic quality control should've caught this before the pickup was packaged.

Felt great
I'm a guitar player but I have a Precision style bass with jazz bass bridge pickup and I installed this pickup on it and sounded great, specially for its price. Felt full and round but Not noisy. (I'm using it with 250k pots)
