Falling Into Infinity: Book One In the Infinity Series

Read Falling Into Infinity- Fall in love with COLIN F***ING MCKINNEY
WOWZERS! I abso-freaking-loutely loved this book. If I could give more stars I would, like I wanted to draw stars on my iPad to add more stars but then logic kicked in. So on my reviews it gets 5 stars but really it deserves 10 Colin.F***ing.Mckinney stars.First, this book is hot, like my iPad's screen steamed up a lot more as I read each scene.Secondly, I have read some books where the authors has actual knowledge about football, and I have read books where the authors know absolutely nothing about football & think they can make it up. Falling Into Infinity, however, is one of those gems where Mrs. Harper knows about football so when you're reading the game scenes it's like you're reading about an actual A&M football game. this may not be a big factor in other readers' minds but it is for me because I love football something fierce & cringe when authors write about it but get EVERYTHING wrong.Thirdly, COLIN.F***ING.MCKINNEY. The statement and a statement he is. Seriously, I think this dude jumped up to #1 on my book boyfriend list. He is everything that a girl wants in a boyfriend- caring, loving, obsessed with his girlfriend, giving, charming etc. the list goes on and on.Charlie/Caroline on the other hand I wanted to smack her on the head a few times based on her reasonings and decisions sometimes. However, I didn't because 1) she is fictional and 2) she is broken. Growing up in a divorced family really messed with her head and made her believe that every man is distrust worthy. Mrs. Harper did a really great job of showing us that and showing us her fears and reasonings behind her decisions. She isn't the worst heroine that I've read but she did have some messed up logic. She did redeem herself in my eyes towards the end, when she gave Colin her all and knew that even through 8 years apart she wanted her infinity with him. *tear* but it was about freaking time. This book is definitely brings the saying "if you love something let it go, if It comes back it's yours and that's how you know.." ( yes, that is a line from Christina Aguilera's song, don't judge) ;)Lastly, you will be shocked at the person behind the epilogue, I thought it would lead into book 2 but the narrator makes it bang into book 2 hard. It was so surprising that I re-read the first paragraph twice to make sure I knew who was talking.Mrs. Harper does a really fabulous job of making the storyline flow and making it was real as could be. Her characters were real in every way, like we got a glimpse into these real Texas A&M students lives.Bottom line, get this book and read it. It is a beautiful story about a boy and a girl that love each other so much but have to let each other go in order to live their dreams, until eight years later.Starting book 2 now & excited but nervous at the same time :)

He can be my mission statement anyday!
I loved this book...4.5 Stars for me! What a debut for Layne Harper! The cover is what drew me in initially but when I read they synopsis I knew it was for me. I mean who wouldn't fall for a sexy star quarterback who worships the ground you walk on. I will definitely be picking up book 2 in the series when it releases.Caroline "Charlie" Collins, is a sophomore at A & M who wants to go to medical school, become a partner in her father's Orthopedic practice and eventually find love and her happy ever after. But things don't always go as planned.Meet Colin McKinney the super sexy, suave, All-Star quarterback for Texas A & M. His dream is playing in the NFL. His three loves, Big Bertha, Charlie and Football.Caroline a/k/a Charlie and Colin meet during her sophomore year when Colin requires physical therapy for an injury and is being treated at her father's practice. They agree to carpool to Colin's therapy sessions once a week and slowly begin to learn more about one another. But when therapy ended, so did their contact. While out with her best friend Rachel, she runs into Colin again and sparks fly. But contact is sporadic until a weekend getaway. They had just been friends or so it seemed."Caroline, you are the most beautiful girl in the world, Marry Me."I stood on my tip-toes and whispered in his ear, "Not today."While in her senior year of college Charlie gets the news she has always hoped for...she's been accepted to Harvard. Colin being quarterback for Dallas makes it impossible for him to relocate with her. Charlie knows that they cannot survive 4 years apart. She puts off the inevitable only to delay the pain."Charlie, when you walked into your dad's office on the first day we met, I knew that you were something special. These last two years haven't always been easy, but I never once regretted meeting you until this moment."Fast forward 8 long years....Caroline is practicing medicine in her father's practice and has been asked to attend a dinner honoring a football great in California. She has always wondered what it would be like to run into Colin McKinney again but the wait is over. Is the chemistry still there? The Pain? Has time healed old wounds? Or will they Fall into Infinity?

Good contemporary romance, book One of three
I enjoyed this book and even though the story doesn't end with this book, there's not a real cliffhanger at the end either. The book is well written and well edited for typos, but the author has an annoying habit of switching verb tenses from one sentence to another and from one paragraph to another.College sweethearts, they found and recognized "the one" early on. But what happens to happily ever after when your dreams lead you across the country from your soul mate? Colin, all-star quarterback for Texas A & M, is looking at the Heisman and then hoping for a shot at the NFL. Caroline, known to her friends as Charlie, is a brilliant pre-med student. Her father is the orthopedic doctor/surgeon for elite athletes, and she can't wait to learn those skills and fulfill her life's dream of becoming a top doctor as well. Already she's succeeded where he failed, and earned admission to Harvard, the top medical school in the country. This book follows their relationship through college, their separation while Charlie goes to med school and Colin becomes the QB for the Dallas Cowboys, and their meeting each after all those years. The author skips around chronologically, but does label it, through it's not too effective or necessary a tool for this book.I was really rooting for Colin and Caroline to make it as a couple. They're both very interesting and empathetic characters, but the pressures proved to be problematic for young people still somewhat immature. I'm interested to see how the relationship develops now that they're older. There are many graphic sexual scenes and some profanity in this book.Heat factor hot.

To infinity and beyond?
I spotted this as a recommendation on twitter, had a look and for 77p it's a steal of a story and one that I can't wait to see develop. It has real potential.NFL quarterback Colin McKinney and Med student Caroline 'Charlie' Collins meet, fall in love and try to cope with separation and the force that is being a sportsman in the public eye. It's a love story. A love story that ultimately spans 10 years. It isn't riddled with angst, yet your heart go out to them both and their plights.Admittedly, I didn't love either of them immediately; both could be selfish and at times Colin verged on the possessive. But they were young and as the book progressed and they grew up, I liked who they became and started to love them (particularly Colin wink wink). They are a couple that, despite their pasts and the obstacles they are likely to be faced with, I want to work and I want to learn more about.I picked it up and I didn't put it down until I had flicked the final page. The epilogue was an excellent concept once I got the jist. Very different! An excellent debut novel that I would recommend and I look forward to the next instalment.

Loved!
This book was such an emotional journey with two people coming of age and their walk through life and love. Caroline is such a determined and loving young lady, who falls in love so unexpectedly and falls hard. Her life was ruined at some point, and Colin is her soul mate.Colin is a gorgeous alpha male! He's protective, fierce and filled with love! He has had a fight to get where he is, and he is happy in life. The drama is huge, twists are thrown at you, and your heart breaks during the book.Layne has written such a gorgeous book, that is a must read for any romance lover or football lover! I cannot wait to start reading the second book and see how Caroline and Colin progress in their relationship!

I didn't finish...
I couldn't make it to the end. The sample chapters were ok which is why I purchased it, but I found that after a few more chapters the characters were extremely immature for their supposed age, & the two main characters especially, lacked personality. The premise was interesting but the author just didn't deliver for me.Colin was a bit drab as far as love interests go, all he did was try to please Charlie, who came across as so spoiled at times, that I found myself rolling my eyes trying to understand why such a superstar quarterback wanted to be with her in the first place. That's when he wasn't overreacting to every little thing the media said about 'his girl' anyway...I guess if you like egotistical heroines, weak heroes, & a plot full of unnecessary angst then you'll enjoy it, I just wish I could get my money back.....

Contains minor spoilers
Really different but where to begin? I find everyone else seems to be loving main man Colin in this storyline...but why? At the beginning he is pushy, demanding and expects to drag his girlfriend everywhere with him (to hell with what she wants). He wants to plan out their lives and live his dream which means keeping Charlie from hers. Then when he comes back into her life after the split years later, shows absolute lack of respect to his current girlfriend and cheats on her with him? Speaks to her like dirt? All to get Charlie back in his life. This relationship is warped and dysfunctional. I can only pray there aren’t too many relationships out there that exist like this one.

amazing story!!! though annoying time jump
Loved the story of Charlie & Colin. Can't believe they didn't speak for 8years though, seems abut unrealistic given they both have mutual best friends who are dating. Would have like more background story on what happen in those lost years. I hope that is revealed in the next book. The only reason this does not get 5* is because I hated the time jump, I think the narrative is important but they way each cheaper moved to a different time is sooo distracting and annoying. But overall very enjoyable read can't wait to see what happened in the next episode
