San Diego Hat Company Women's One Size Ultrabraid Visor with Ribbon Trim and Black Velcro, Mixed Brown

I talked with an associate at a brick and mortar store recently who owned a similar hat and raved about it. It was blazing hot and sunny that day and I had a ton of yard work to accomplish. Our conversation put me on a hunt to find a hat like hers. I found one even better (for me). This hat is not only UPF 50 plus and will keep the sun off of my face and out of my eyes, but it is also stylish if that sort of thing is important to you. It is to me. I could have gotten a similar hat, in a more simple color and style, but this is the one that is most like me. It fits well, is adjustable in case my head shrinks or gets bigger ;), and while it is nearly perfect as-is, I plan to make a couple of very minor modifications to take it up a notch (ymmv). I plan to put a small piece of elastic in between the velcro and where it attaches to the hat as sort of comfy gripper. I'm also going to attach a strap of sorts to the inner hat band so that when the wind blows it won't blow away. These modifications are very personal choices and aren't necessary for the utility of it. The hat is outstanding as-is and can be used for much more than a gardening hat by anyone. It would be terrific around town, or on vacation and I plan to use it for just that next year.This is a well-made and lovely hat that is not to be passed up! With all the color choices, there is one to fit almost anyone's taste.

I bought this hat to wear while working in my garden while still being able to keep my thick curly hair out of the way in a top bun. Works great! Except....the hat is just to pretty to get all dirty and sweaty in the garden. The colors and pattern is very bold striking. The hat itself is tightly woven and very sturdy. I immediately retired the hat from gardening and now it's just my pretty hat that very quickly rolls up and gets carried around in my bag to use whenever I'm out and want some relief from the sun. I love this hat so much I bought another one as a backup just in case I wear out the first one.

I love this hat! It is stylish and provides great sun protection. I love that I can keep my hair in a bun or ponytail and off my neck on the hot days. My head is kind of small so the adjustability is nice.My only complaint is that when it is adjusted to my head size the grippy part of the velcro sticks to my hair because the soft part is not long enough. I like the hat so much that I will either cut the extra grippy velcro off or attach some more soft velcro to the hat- not a deal breaker.

It is so attractive and unique because it is adjustable to my head size. Great sun protection and very easy to pack in my suitcase. I give it 4 stars only because of the open top, as I prefer my head to be completely covered. Quality for the great price!

This hat was o convenient for days at the pool and vacations. It rolls up to pack and then lays out and forms back together as a great visor. My face is protected and my bun/pony tail is not smashed!! I have a smaller head, and it goes small enough to stay on- and it expands to larger sizes as well. Great hat/visor!!

I love the style, the colors, the fit. It’s so cute and comfortable! It’s the only hat I’ve ever felt cute wearing, usually I hate hats! I love that I can wear my hair up in a bun if I want to.

I love this hat! I misplaced the original one of this style that I purchased so I bought two more. The hat rolls up and can be put in your luggage or purse without getting deformed. I have long hair and frequently wear it in a bun or ponytail which isn't a problem with this hat as it is with other styles The brim is nice and wide and protects from glare and overexposure to the sun. I highly recommend this hat!
