Q'Straint QRT MAX Retractor for L Track PN: Q8-6209-L

I bought this for my handicap van and it has been excellent holding me down.

I could not use the retractor the way I wanted to. First when installed in the front of the van it does not reach past the front seats to latch onto the wheelchair frame, not long enough, but chain links can be added to extend the hook. Next, the van has a lowered floor and raised seats in order to be able to see over the dashboard. Once locked in at floor level it is impossible to reach down and forward to push down the red lever that releases the hook and that red lever must be kept pushed down while the hook is being extended. If you can't keep the red lever pushed down, then the hook isn't released any further. Next, this is usually sold with 4 ratchets, but I wanted to try it out and paid about 1/3 of the cost for 4.I'm glad I got only one.

My wife and I have neuropathy in our hands. Bought these so we no longer had to use the ratchet tie downs. Finally got someone to installed them. Hooked up just fine. But every time van accelerated, my chair does a wheelie and I lay back against the back seat. Now we're back to using old tie downs. Called the company to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. All I got was a run around and they couldn't help because Amazon is not one of their distributors.

When I had some work done on my handicap van the mechanic lost one of the wheel chair tie downs. I purchased this and it works perfectly.

Just bought a Braun mobility van, and replaced the straps that came with it with a couple of these.What a difference. So much easier!
