A little flimsy, but a 5 star. Was great for my college kids to get cash and figure out! Fun Christmas or bday idea. Would recommend.

I always get my Mom a gift card to her favorite store to go along with her other gifts at Christmas. I usually just try to find a way to hide the gift card in her gifts, and if I can't I attach it in a card to one of her gifts.This year I decided to buy a puzzle box that I could put her card in, but that she could also use to re-gift if she wanted to.This box was really neat! It seemed pretty sturdy, but keep in mind that if you will be giving this to somebody who will be trying to roughly open it, the box would probably break. As long as the person is being sensible about trying to open it, you shouldn't have any issues with it breaking or falling apart.When it was delivered, I was so excited! I handed the box to my fiance to try and figure out as I was reading the instructions and he figured it out right away. Like.. in a minute or so. Lol. However, it did take my Mom a couple of minutes to figure it out, and she absolutely loved it. She thought it was such a great idea and neat little box. I can definitely see her re gifting it to a coworker or one of the grandkids.All in all, it is sturdy as long as the person trying to open it is sensible and not just trying to force things to move or prying on things. It did hold a gift card, and it was pretty easy for adults to figure out.I think this would be a great way to gift a gift card or money or even smaller items. Especially to kids who you could trust to not be rough with it.

I bought these for my son and grandson. They were perfect little puzzles to get them to think and open, and of course I put some money and giftcards in the box for them. They now use it as a way to save money...sort of. Since they know how to open it now, their money saving tactics keep getting thwarted by wanting to go to the corner store and get snacks. They save enough for that though. So thats good enough!

Got this for a Christmas gift. Opened it to put the gift card in it the week before Christmas and one side fell off. It was too late to return and order another one so I glued it back together and it held up pretty well after that. Thank god for krazy glue.

I purchased 4 of the puzzle boxes as gifts and was unable to give any of them to the people I had intended. The mailer box looked undamaged but when I opened it all for packaging boxes for the puzzle boxes were crushed. I opened each one to see if the puzzle boxes were still usable and they were all damaged and falling apart. I do not recommend these to anyone.

Worked out very well to gift my adult children some money as Christmas gift. I added a brain teaser puzzle to the mix so they had to seek out an envelope that contained a picture with clues how to open (taken from the Amazon listing). It's also a box that can be used again to stash some money in and leave on a shelf or dresser.

This box is was dirt cheap, so the little round nobs are flimsy. One is made to turn as sort of a fake gizmo to throw off the puzzle solver, but it almost looks like a mistake because of how flimsy the attachment is. The other knob is the functional key, made to come out when you turn the key to the proper angle, but it turns so easy that it just falls out on its own. I can easily improve the key by making a better fitting rod-and-tooth with a thicker dowel and a piece of popsicle stick. I expected to tweak the construction since the box was so inexpensive, and I'm happy that the fix will be this easy. The more complex parts of the box are better made and functional, with parts that fit well and move without sticking.

Although it didn’t come with instructions, was a fun little gift! Everyone had fun trying. Once we figured it out, was great to give to someone else to try if they didn’t watch. Wood is a little thin in places so be careful but overall it was exactly what I wanted. Nice way to change up gift giving of money and cards. Will be looking for different ones to keep the gift giving intriguing!
