Practical and clean.
Used it on my Camry Hybrid. Relatively fast as long as you pump often, no mess.Very easy to dump the oil out.

Worked very well
Purchased a 2010 Mariner for my daughter's first car. Two days later, went to change the oil only to find that the drain plug was epoxied in place (the PO must've stripped the plug). This oil vacuum had rave reviews on different forums, so I grabbed it. Ran the car for a few minutes to heat up the oil, but NOT long enough to bring the car up to full temp (I had seen other reviews where guys had melted the suction tube). It took about 15 minutes to suck out 5 quarts, but that's a small price to pay for not having to crawl around on my back. Would definitely recommend.

Worked with some modification
The provided hard black hose that goes down the dipstick hole would not go all the way, short by about 10 inches when comparing it to the dipstick. Must have been the design of my mercruiser 357 alpha motor. The dipstick has a corkscrew shape to it which I believe is what caused this. The dipstick catches something in the last 10 inches which guides it down into the oil pan, whatever it catches wouldn’t let the suction tube down. I was able to get a larger hose from the hardware store and cut off the black hose then clamp the larger hose to the outside Of the dipstick tube and to the outside of the provide clear hose and essentially suck the oil out as if the dipstick tube was a straw. It worked but after a long day of running around, not the fault of the product but rather engine design.

Giving this unit a thumbs up.
I take care of all the oil changes for the family cars so you know my experience level. This unit was purchased for changing the oil on our sailboat with a three cylinder Yanmar 30 horse which I change hot after a long run. Yesterday was the second time I used the extractor. I sized the unit to be able to extract and hold five plus quarts. I need to setup in the middle of the galley, so my number one concern was a mess free system. This unit meets all my needs and has a couple additional benifits. The unit includes caps and a pour spout so I never lost a drop. When broken down, the entire unit, and a couple of funnels easy fit in a five gallon bucket with a lid (you need to break the unit down for it to fit but be careful unscrewing the pump handle off, it could be broken if threaded on to tight). This is important to me as I dont need to try and get every last drop out of the unit before putting it into storage on the boat, should any residual spill, which is unlikely, it's contained in the bucket. Construction of the unit is thick gauge plastic and while it appears fairly robust, I'm sure if you go gorrila on it you will break something.

Don't waste your time. Buy a motorized oil extractor pump instead!
You will need a looong time to pump out your automotive oil with this product! Took me 4 hours to pump out 4 qts. of oil and I had to keep pumping it up every 5 minutes to regain enough suction to keep it flowing, or else it just stops. Not a "set and forget" product. You will sit there for hours pumping, literally. I can see usage of this product more for small machinery vs. an automotive oil change.

Makes the job easy!!!
Bought this to mainly change the oil in my power equipment. I used it on my Toro Timemaster successfully. Anyone who knows how messy oil changes can become, this piece of kit makes the job so much easier with no mess. No putting cardboard down and tipping the mower over. Makes me actually look forward to maintenance instead of dreading it.

Pela PL-6000 6 Liters Oil Extractor.. Finally got one!
I've been wanting an oil extractor for years... this one in particular. After viewing a video review comparing this and others online, I decided to pull the trigger and get one. I'm not disappointed. I'll never get under a vehicle again to change the oil (save for filter removal). Oil catch pans are a thing of the past (again, save for the filter). But my present vehicle, a VW Passat TDI Wagon, has everything up in the engine compartment: dipstick, oil fill, and oil filter. All handy for upright maintenance. And my John Deere garden tractor has everything topside too. Only the GMC pickup requires me going below to change the filter. That said, some of the reviews about this unit complained about the number of pumps requred to actually remove the oil. For 4.5 quarts of oil, it only took about forty pumps to do the job. And this included sucking out the remaining oil in the filter body chamber. Cleanup was easy, and it all stowed back in the box it came in. Maybe the too many moving parts (one) scared the complainers. Try it .... you'll love it.

Quality product with superb vacuum
This is a quality product compared to some other brands, and having got a smaller version many years ago it has stood the test of time. Suction/vacum is excellent. Cost compared to competitive products is higher but the quality and reliability is worth the money.

Great pump
Can be slow but this one will save you crawling under the car. The tube fits right down the dipstick tube. No hassle, no mess.
