Toddler nailed down colors with this book
I got this book for my son when he was two. He was showing interest in learning his colors but not naming them correctly. He really loves trains and we already had the Steam Train Dream Train book. Within a short time he was identifying the correct color of everyday objects or things in books. This book really helped him nail down his colors. I am also going to buy the number book since we had such success with using this book.

Terrific book for young toddlers
I got it for my grandson when he was 2 1/2 years old, just when he was learning his colors. He loved to "read" the colors on each page as I would read the rest of the words to him. He loved the longer version, too, but this book was his favorite.

Great version of Steam Train for infants and toddlers.
I bought this for my daughter when she was an infant. She is a toddler now and still enjoys reading the book with me. The rhymes are catchy but gentle/calming enough to be a good bedtime book. For a simple board book, she actually learned a lot from it such as colors and animals. When she got older, she pointed out other nouns such as bubbles, book, moon and even verbs like "reading" and "growling" and is even exposed to the different types of train cars. It's a great book for young children. We have the original Steam Train Dream Train book but that book hasn't quite caught her attention because of its length. Great version of Steam Train for infants and toddlers.

Absolute Classic in Our House
This is part of our nightly bedtime routine. One of the first words my son learned to say was “caa” which meant “colors”. He never gets tired of this one and I really don’t either. It’s really a wonderful book. We love the 1-2-3 version as well. Highly recommend!!!

Good overall book.
A little thrown together. The illustrations are mostly minimally altered images from the original steam train dream train. It’s a good introduction to colors. He likes listening to it and interacting taking about the colors.

Two year old loves it
Stubborn two year old who KNOWS his colors and is obsessed with the original Steam Train book. I got this and now we read it every night and he’s coming around about 50% of the time. He really likes everything to be yellow and green but purposely says other colors on the yellow and green page. This is engaging him though and he begs for it so it’s getting to the clown.
