This is a brand new surgical scalpel blade #3 Handle/Holder. Featuring a rounded handle to allow for better maneuverability and control. This blade handle is made of aluminium and stainless steel. The attachment features a cross vise that tightens and grips the blade firmly. This type of attachment method prevents the possibility of the blade flying off due to wear and tear or poor fit with standard #3 Handles. Simply slide the blade in, tighten and you have a secure and strongly attached blade, ready for use. The diameter of the blade chamber is 6.75mm, so the maximum blade width it can fit is 6.75mm. Really a craft-knife blade handle, but it works, and feels good in the hand.
I use this with some scalpel blades I review elsewhere as a substitute for XActo™-style knives and blades.This handle is really designed for the craft-knife blades, and not scalpel blades. You can even see that in the vendor product photos -- way too much of the blade protrudes from the handle. So I snap off the overlong blade tang with a pliers before loading the handle.

Got this to hold new blades. Well balanced, colour means I don't loose it. Holds the blades firmly.
