I grew up in the U.S. in the 50's and 60s. That is when I learned baking skills from my mother and when I became familiar with the pastry cutter. This tool is essential for making pie dough, super for blending butter and sugar when making cookie dough. I have lived in Belgium for the last 20 years and was surprised not to see these sold with other cooking utensils at the shops. Now I am retired and taking more time to bake.
