Best size best color!
If you have one STAUB Cocotte, make it this one. It’s 5 1/2 quarts and it says it on the box. I know black is not the most exciting color but it will look like new forever. Once the newness wears off you’ll be happy you bought it in black. I love all my Staub Cocottes, but it seems like this is my new go to. Just does everything right. So I had to buy the piggy knob, because it deserves it! Most sought after size of the top French brands. Treat yourself to this one you won’t be sorry, Happy cooking!

Husband is obsessed
This pan is great, my husband is obsessed. I asked him if he likes the pan more than me and he said it depended on the day. The price we got it for was WAY lower than anywhere else so we were concerned about the condition it would come in and it arrived in perfect condition.

Good just
Good and keeps things hot well for long time. Just be wary that it might come with slight imperfections as there was a small dent in mine. Also the lid is amazing for water retention. Just buy on sale as its good but def not worth the asking price in terms of fit and finish as the handles are a bit rough and thin in enamel. In addition to above mentioned dent.

Perfect for a Cup of Rice
I use this pot almost exclusively to cook rice. It easily fits one cup of uncooked rice which produces about 3 to 4 cups of cooked rice. Perfect for 2 people with a little left over. I also use it sometimes to heat up soup or other small dishes. I am really glad I purchased this and it looks great and takes up very little space in my kitchen.

Expensive. Worth it.
Is this pricey for a pot? Mmmmnn-hnnnn. BUT. Enameled cast iron is amazing - you can saute in it, brown meat in it, cook bacon in it, etc., to do all the starting bits of a dish, then put in the wet ingredients and make a stew or something else fabulous. And, I've used both Lodge & Le Creuset and I like Staub better for two reasons: 1) The dark surface of the interior is BETTER on a Staub. Le Creuset tends to have stains you can't get out, and browning meat sticks to the inside of a Lodge pot like glue, which ruins the crust on your meat. Staub tends to be much more non-stick and good at browning, also easier to clean. Maybe it does stain, too, but you can't see it. 2) The spikes on the inside of the lid send condensation back into your dish and make your meat come out tenderer. This size is better for me than the 5qt size, because I like to cook for a crowd, and the red color is beautiful!

This pot is the Bomb! Cherry color is AMAZING!!!
I bought a 9 Quart, round Staub, in Basil and the green color is very pretty. The 9 quart is VERY heavy, if you are not super strong, think aboutlifting that pot out of a low oven, filled with food!I wanted a smaller pot and looked at Staub pots, trying to decide~ for 2 months!I narrowed it down to this beautiful Staub pot in color "Cherry"! Itarrived and my husband and I lifted it out of the packagingand both stopped breathing, it was so gorgeous!!! The finish istwo shades of red. It is like my little red corvette in the kitchen!!The first dish that I made in it was Chicken tikka masalafrom Cooks Illustrated. It was amazing! Both the pot and the recipe! If you plan on making the dish, order a wonderful gramm masala from agood spice place!I can't wait to create more wonderful meals for my husbandand myself in this gorgeous pot!! We are thrilled with the look and performanceand feel that it's so much prettier than Le Creuset's red.

Classic look and performs well
Lots of heft, but not overly heavyEnamel finish (grey) is subdued but has a classic look and complements the kitchen nicelySpikes under the lid allow for uniform dripping / basting for slow braises and roastsLid nicely heavy and tight fitting to ensure a snug oven....Have been experimenting with various new recipes thanks to inspiration from this cookware.... low and slow the way to go

BIG
Heavy, but I was worried it would be heavier. Big. To get this size the pot is wider, so extends over the stove plate. I don’t think it is an issue. This will be used to cook bone broth. Quality I think unbeatable. I think the pricing is fair, and will seem even fairer a few years down the line.
