Q: Is the monitor battery only, or can it be plugged in to wall?

The monitor uses a battery only.

Q: I tried to change the seat, but the bolt(s) on the existing seat wouldn't budge with a wrench. Any tips, suggestions, warnings re changing the seat?

Use 2 wrenches on both nuts. One to hold & one to unscrew.

Q: My magnet will no longer stay in place. how do i go about fixing this? it stays close to the wheel no matter how light i go with resistance.

I don’t know. I have no problems with this bike other than the seat being small and hard.

Q: What is the lowest total height of the handlebars and device mount? I would like to place this underneath my standing desk.

41" inches. With the handlebars locked in in the lowest position, the measurement from the floor to the top edge of the device mount is 41". the handlebars are slightly lower than the top edge of the device mount.
