Superb Italian cookbook for your bookshelf
Likes: This Italian cookbook is for anyone who loves Italian food, pasta, primi, bbq, secondi, dessert etc. Some easy recipes to follow including vegetarian pastas. Great if you are a fan of Trullo. It gives great tips in terms of choosing and sourcing ingredients, secrets of cooking that you would learn from chefs in Bologna. It has tips for those who buy packet pasta as well as those attempting handmade. There is a great bbq section, feast section for dinner parties/roasts. The anti pasti section has simple recipes and the desserts include all the classics. For foodies, the stocks and sauces section is clearly mapped with what meat or seafood matches which sauce, takes much longer to make. The contents and chapters are clearly marked, contains heaps of recipes. Compared to simple cook books like Jamie’s Italian, this is more complex but seems very authentic.Dislikes: I’d like to see more photos. There are photos but not for each recipe. Plus side is it is filled with recipesI highly recommend

A bit of a let down
I was really looking forward to receiving this book. Maybe that was part of the problem, as it just didn't live up to my expectations. I really don't understand why not all of the recipes have their accompanying picture. This makes it really difficult to visualise what the finished dish should look like and whether you actually want to make it. To be honest I didn't find anything in this book that I wanted to cook which is a real shame.
