Field Guardian Wood Post Polytape Corner/End Insulator, 2-Inch, Black

I purchased these a few months ago for a horse fencing project. These were the only 2" end connectors that I could seem to find anywhere that would work with wooden posts. At the time, they were just under $5 each. That seemed a little high but I thought I'd give them a shot. I needed 12 of these per strand of 2" tape and I had originally planned on doing 4 strands. I purchased enough to do the top strand to make sure I liked how they worked before making the big purchase. The construction of them is great. The black plastic is extremely heavy duty and I imagine it will outlast the wooden posts. Here is my hangup with these. After a few months of testing them out, I decided I was going to purchase the rest to finish my other 3 strands. When I saw the price jump, I quickly changed my mind. $13.41 each is ridiculous. For that kind of increase, it was cheaper for me to just go with rough cut 1x6 boards. They do the job and are a quality product, but if you need a bunch they just aren't an economical choice at the current price.

Nice and easy to use. I use it with the 2" tape and it holds nice and tight. I have metal horse panels so I attached the insulators with zip ties and with this I used 6 to be sure of the hold.

Better quality than other insulators carried by a particular large chain farm store. Tip: install with the plastic bolt head holder on the bottom. This will prevent from water pooling behind the head holder and causing the fence to discharge when wet.
