All the classic recipes from a national treasure, easy to follow each recipe
A great book full of national treasure Mary Berry's recipe's, all recipe's are easy to follow with all ingredients listed nicely and with beautiful glossy photographs of each cake or desert.Even though she is an amazing and well respected baker and cook, she doesn't go overboard with her recipes or make them too fancy and hard to follow. They are classic cakes and deserts that anyone can give a go and are fun to make and even more fun to eat.I've tried baking a few cakes including chocolate brownies and scones, see pics, they turned out really well and tasted amazing, if I can do it anyone can, go ahead and buy this book you won't regret it.Really pleased with this book and the service from Amazon, hope you found the review and pics helpful.

An excellent basic cook book let down by small size and very poor print quality .
Great little book , fabulous recipies and I love the way its simplistically written for the novice baker and goes into more detail so you get better results such as how to tell when a sponge is cooked . I have bought for a friend who is just starting to learn to bake and its perfect for her . Unfortunately the quality of the print itself is very poor . Some of the recipies in the "large cakes and Swiss rolls" section have blurred ingredients lists because it looks like the ink has run out of ink , this is a shame because it ruins what is otherwise a perfect recipie book . This book is smaller than expected and its no bigger than a standard paperback novel

Great book for bakers of all levels of experience
So far I've bought 4 copies, 2 for me as one got lost in a house move, 1 for a friend who wanted to bake but lacked confidence and one for my youngest son's girlfriend who liked baking but was inexperienced. This book is fantastic, Mary Berry recipes are easy to follow and foolproof whatever your level of expertise. My only criticism is that the pages seem to come away from the spine really easily so you end up with pages out of order, there again it's been so well thumbed........😂

Lovely Little Book
Lovely little book all round really, pictures for every recipe, nothing too challenging if you are pressed for time, but by the same token there are a few that will need a good deal of time and faffing around such as the raspberry meringue roulade and a couple of others that we all know and love to eat. I've already picked out loads of things to make, some look really fancy and difficult in the picture but when you read them through you realise how simple they are to make, they only LOOK like hard work. As with all MB's books, there's the odd repeat from another of her books but I can live with that. I have a copy of her very first printed book by Hamlyn (The black covered one) and I noted that many of the recipes she wrote then have been updated in her more recent books such as Bakewell Tart. It seems she has replaced the original frangipan filling with sponge and some scattered sliced almonds, that's fine if you are in a hurry but the old frangipan recipe is soooo more-ish, I think I might stick to that even if it does take longer to make and bake. There's really nothing in this book to complain about, the recipes are great and you don't have to be an award winning baker to make them. Best of all for me, she's introduced me to a whole new list of recipes and ingredient combinations my other books don't have. Very happy to recommend this lovely little book.
