Al parecer contiene toda, TODA la ficción corta (osea, no novelas como 2001) en Inglés de Clarke (116 relatos) EXCEPTO "At the Mountains of Murkiness" y "When the Twerms Came".En muchos de los relatos se pueden ver los orígenes de sus novelas posteriores. Además, con ésta compilación se nota que le gustaba mucho el mar, que se enfocaba más en el lado humano/terrícola de la Ciencia Ficción (aunque sus extraterrestres, algo escasos en proporción, están muy bien escritos: no son sólo hombrecitos verdes), y que se preocupaba mucho por la supervivencia (o destrucción) de la especie humana contra catástrofes naturales (por lo general, (re)glaciación).Antes de muchos relatos hay comentarios del autor acerca del relato. Por lo general son acerca de cambios en los títulos por los editores, o su relación con otras de sus obras o novelas, pero recomiendo que éstos se lean después de leer el relato por el ocasional spoiler leve.100% recomendadísimo para quien no tenga nada de Clarke, lo quiera conocer más, y sepa leer Inglés.Si ya tienen algunas colecciones, depende de qué tantos relatos ya tengan. Pero aún así, es la forma más fácil de conseguir el resto de sus relatos.

It's the collected short story works of Arthur C. Clarke, the big man himself. The mind behind 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Sentinel and Rendezvous With Rama. One of the Big Three of 20th Century science fiction. He needs no more introduction than that. This almost-1000 page behemoth of over 100 stories is not so much a book as an investment.His writing remains absolutely world-class after all these years and hasn't aged a day. Some stories are stronger than others, but if you don't like the one you're currently reading, you can skip on to the next. I'll admit a personal bias because Clarke's short stories were my obsession throughout my teenage years (along with cheap black eyeliner and the boy who sat beside me in History) but even now as an adult I remember the giddiness of staying up all night to read ONE MORE STORY, not giving a damn that I had school in the morning. When this book dropped through my letterbox, my life screeched to a halt as I became 15 again, still amazed by his stories nearly ten years later.If you love sci-fi, you need this in your life. Hell, if you love books, you need this in your life. And then set aside a few weeks to delve into the rest of Clarke's bibliography. It's worth the journey.
