This is a very good reel for the money! Cast smooth no issues.

I use this reel on a 7 foot, medium heavy rod for surf fishing around San Diego, CA. I've caught many fish 6+ pounds from shore; in the surf. Despite all the salt and sand exposure, this reel lasts through multiple seasons of regular use. (with a good rinse and dry after each use) For about the cost of a dozen blood worms, this reel is a great value.This is a follow-up to my previous (8/21) comments. Many of the rock bottom negative reviews posted about this reel are posted by would-be fishermen that probably don't have a firm grasp of what the art, yes ART, of fishing entails. Fishing equipment and especially reels do require a certain amount of care and maintenance. For those who's reels flew apart on the umpteenth cast; there are a few components that should be checked and appropriately adjusted and/or tightened prior to a session of of "fishing". As far as how many ball bearings are used; considering the use I've put these reels through; they operate nearly as smoothly as they did "out of the box". In other words; I haven't lost any sleep worrying about the bearings, gears, drag washers, or any other component of this piece of gear. And it has continued to perform. And when it does begin to show signs of wear and I question it's serviceability; guess what; I designate it as a back-up and buy a new one from Sougayilang. Here's $16; it'll be outside my door (sans mono) tomorrow. Bottom line: These reels perform very well for me and my style of fishing. I haven't had to contact Sougayilang customer service, but I suspect that any issues I might have will be addressed to my satisfaction.

The real is a perfect match for my ugly stick. Love the look of the 3000 real. Soon as I put it on the rod went to the lake I got a 3 pound large mouth it was great.The real work great no problems.I can't wait to go back again. No noise quite . It cast beautiful. Strong like I said. It's a open face real and its works great.

Feels like quality materials had good weight balance. However, one of them had a scratchy feeling when reeling and the other was missing a screw to hold in the handle So I returned both feeling that they will not last.

The reels themselves are middle of the road quality, suited for the non professional for whom they work just fine. The customer service is really, really good. I purchased another brand and when it fell apart out of warranty (with only one use) that company’s CS was terrible. I also learned that my stinging commentary concerning this “other brand” didn’t meet Amazon standards and was rejected thereby cheating consumers out of my wit and a warning about the other company.

I have used 3 times now. Never lost a fish , but i had to keep adjusting the drag. That's why i left a star off.

For the price it’s a no brainer. Works exactly how it should. Wife’s squeaky reel is no more. I’m buying another one for the spare rod(Went with 2000 model)

Product is exactly as advertised and delivered quicker than I thought. I have not had a chance to use it yet but so far so good.

The reel worked great for the whole time i fished this summer. I fished exclusively in salt water, and rinsed the reel off a few times with fresh water. No issues so far. Extremely satisfied.

Very good reel for the price, we'll see how it holds up over time though. The one came with damaged plastic, and they would not give me a refund or replace it. It doesn't affect the function as its just for looks, so its not a big deal.*Update* Went catfishing and caught a couple big ones with no issues. The drag is easy to adjust and works very well. I was worried about my rod breaking but no concerns with the reel- it worked amazing!
