Sturdy and well made stand. Cat loves it!
This is the first piece of cat furniture I've purchased since adopting our cat a year ago, so I had no idea how my cat would take to it. I was nervous having ordered "sight unseen" if the stand would be sturdy enough and/or large enough for our cat. Well, it has met all of my expectations and then some. This is a 'no frills' piece, nothing fancy, but I wanted something simple. It came in one piece (no assembly required) in a giant box. The stand is solid. My cat is not huge (13 pounds), but not small either. He is long and "bulky" for lack of a better word. The stand withstands him pouncing on the platform and doesn't budge, and it is not placed against a wall for stability either. Anything of lesser quality would wobble or simply tip over with the weight of the cat, but this stand hasn't done either. The post is tall enough for him to scratch in a stretched position, which he likes to do. The carpet seems to be of good quality. It hasn't shed at all and is neutral enough to go with our decor. Overall, no complaints and shipped within 2 days with Prime. Given how much much kitty condos can go for nowadays, especially shipped to your home, I think this item is fairly priced for what you get, and my cat likes it, so it's totally worth it. He has used it everyday since it arrived. Thank you from Kitty!

Worth it!
I have to qualify - I've never spent this much on a piece of cat furniture in my life... but I've had this post now for a month and I don't regret the purchase at all!Despite having two posts in other parts of the house, my furry freeloader had taken to scratching the carpet in the living room, so I bought this post, thinking anything would be worth it to preserve the carpet. No sooner had I lifted it out of the box than he was on it, rubbing against it. I questioned whether it had been catnip-treated! I had to lift both the cat and the post over to the corner where I intended it to sit, and he went to town. He's a long cat, but there's plenty of post to allow him to stand up and get a full stretch while scratching. He also loves to lay on the carpeted base and sort of spin himself around by clawing the post until he gets dizzy. It took him a day or two to get comfortable jumping up to the top, but now he loves it on his perch. The post is extremely well-made, not at all loose or wobbly, and after getting a month of consistent use, has yet to shed the annoying little carpet loops that you get from the cheap posts. I vacuum the base, and I've been pretty successful using a fuzz-catcher brush to clean the top nest. The picture shows gray carpeting, and mine is more of a beige - closer in color to the rope of the post, but I don't have an issue with that. All in all, A+!

A very happy chappy!
Can't say that I am in love with it as I haven't tried it out myself... ;-) Oliver on the other hand never gets off the thing, he loves it! I have to say it is one of the best quality cat bed scratchers I have ever seen, I have had this a while now - probably almost a year and there is no shredding of the rope scratcher or carpet bits anywhere, the wear and tear on this thing is really very good and it still looks brand new, excellent quality and worth paying for. There is no wobble during the clawing scratching sessions that it endures, it is very solid and sturdy. The other thing is that Oliver is a large cat - he weighs 5.5kg (big Persian cat) and the cradle part is plenty big enough for him to roll around in, which is the reason why I invested in this scratcher as so many others are too small for large cats. Overall he's happy cos he fits nicely in it and I'm happy as it doesn't look like a hideous eyesore like some of them - I will definitely invest in another one of these in the future. I can only recommend that you spend the extra money and buy it as you will not be disappointed at all.

Two of these won't fit side by side to make one long cradle :(
I am so disappointed! I got some incorrect information from customer service as to measurements, etc (they were different than what is listed on the item page) and they do not fit neatly side by side so the cradles can be joined. There is a 2" space between the cradles :(The boxes were damaged upon arrival so there is no returning them either. And just by themselves, each one is just not large enough even for our smallest cat. What I have done is to put them at the bottom of my bed, side by side and put a thick piece of faux sheepskin over the open space, then put a soft throw, folded several times over both cradles so a cat cannot feel the indentation. It looks okay, but I am not happy about having to cover the cradle and by using a throw it takes up some of the depth. We have a lot of Molly & Friends cat furniture in our home for our 7 rescued cats. It is always well made and durable. We have some of the larger pieces put side by side to make long cradles. You have to turn one of them in the opposite direction, but it works. This cradle would be excellent for a smaller cat, but a larger cat will hang over both ends when stretched out.I am going to contact M&F and see if they won't consider making longer and wider cradles for larger cats.I always recommend M&F to anyone looking for cat furniture for 1 cat or several. It's well worth the price.

Quality slipping
This is my fourth Molly cat tree. The first tree I bought two years ago was fantastic and the second tree was also good. The third tree had problems but I thought maybe it was a fluke or from the poor shopping. Unfortunately, this fourth trees quality is also poor. The carpeted cradle has several flaws/bald spots and the sissel pole where it attaches to the cradle is unraveling. It seems this company is either starting to cut corners or needs to revamp its quality assurance team. That's a shame because my cats love their trees. I was going to send this one back, but my cats jumped on it while I was getting ready to put it back in the box and gave me looks that said, "dont you dare." I had planned to order another tree next month for their play room but I think I will go with another company. When I first started buying Molly trees they were the only ones that made trees for large cats, but now with Cat Tree King and others coming on the market, I have more choices and dont have to settle for sloppy workmanship. I'm really disappointed because I liked this company a lot in the beginning.
