Excellent book. Great characters. Full of adventure and solid morals.

If you like the Chronicles of Narnia or Harry Potter… BUY THIS SERIES. During 2020 quarantine the author read them aloud by video and I fell in love with the stories. So much, that I immediately ordered all 4 books and in the coming months ordered 2-3 more complete sets to give away to friends as gifts.Peterson is a Christian storyteller/songwriter so while there’s a Christian undertone (the characters refer to the “Maker” etc) it is not blatantly obvious Christian story. It is more a story of the value of family, the bond between siblings (and the quarrels like all siblings have), the discovery of identity and character, and how one can live out the calling and identity you’ve been given.If I could give the Wingfeather series 10 stars, I would. As he read them (get the audio books as well!), I laughed out loud, I sobbed a few times, I held my breath and cheered inside, for the characters and the triumphs over the darkness in Peterson’s fantasy world. Stick it out to the end. It’s worth it. I’m 41. 🤣 I adore these books. My kids (13, 10 and 7) have loved them too. Get them! If you won’t, I’ll buy them for you!

The Wingfeather series is a wonderful set of stories that will delight and engage young readers and/or adults alike. I first became acquainted with them when I bought the first book in the series for my granddaughter, and introduced them to the children by reading the first few chapters to them. I was hooked, and had to read the rest of the series. This new edition has a lovely binding, and I ended up buying the hardbound set for them. If your children enjoyed the Narnia books and the Madeline L'Engle ones, these are a great addition to their library of favorites! Witty, scary without being as dark as the Harry Potter books, tender, engaging - these are a few adjectives that describe what you will find. Love these books!

By far the best book series I’ve read with my kids. This series will parallel itself with some stories in the Bible. It has moments of intense life and death situations. The siblings in the books can easily be related to in our culture and the will to survive keeps you in your toes. Definitely a page turner. I read this to my 5 five and 11 year olds. We have even named a few of our animals after some of the characters 😊
