Helping Detox a Sun Conure...
Perhaps I should wait to write a review of this product, as we are by no means at the end of our figurative journey using it, but so far I believe I have reason to be optimistic about it. Like the other reviewer here, coincidentally, I purchased this Aloe Detox for a parrot. Personally, I have gone through many herbal cleanses over the years, and with fantastic results, so when we were given a little sun conure and he started showing signs of respiratory distress in quarantine, I knew something had to be done for him. Honestly, we do not presently have the finances to take him to an avian vet (the ideal thing to do), but considering he came from a home with heavy smokers, and had been eating an all seed "candy" kind of bird diet, I figure he has a Vitamin A deficiency as well as general distress from the situation he came from. I have read many times online of how successfully other parrot owners have used various companies' brands of Aloe Detox for their birds, including this Lily of the Desert variety. Our little one (who is still in quarantine) seems to have taken to this product with gusto: initially I tried putting it in with his water, half-and-half, but that seemed such a waste at the end of the day to throw so much out. Also, I didn't like the idea of it just sitting out like that, as the label says to keep it refrigerated. So I started offering it to him in a lacquered Asian-style soup spoon. He almost seems addicted to it now, which to me says it must be doing something for him. The plan is to offer him a spoonful of the Aloe Detox three or four times a day and then let him take one or two "rest days" from it after a cycle of taking it for five days. I want to continue to cycle this product for a number of weeks, if not months, and see how his condition continues to improve. Of course, his diet is much changed now as well, he was a little bit gassy after I began feeding him whole foods and vegetables, but that has stopped now and his feathers are so much more brightly colored than they were when we were first given him. I also have been giving him--and our other birds--some pau d'arco in their birdie mash, cycling that as well, just in case we are dealing with something bacterial or fungal, besides. Regarding our sun conure's reaction to the Aloe Detox, however, I have noticed that after our little man takes a particularly large/long drink from the spoon, he will often go into a little sneezing fit, or his breathing will become a bit more labored. But then he will adjust his crop and be back to normal. I am keeping an eagle eye on him, his droppings change regularly as the other parrots' do from the various foods they eat (sweet potato versus birdie mash versus vegetables or birdie bread, etc.) and he honestly seems to be getting healthier and more 'spunky' as time passes. So I am hopeful that this Aloe Detox is helping to clean him out from all of that cigarette smoke and his bad, previous diet. Time will tell, however, so I will update in a month or so and let everyone know how things have worked out for our new, feathered family member. (And for those of you who are curious as regards the Aloe Detox for humans: Personally, I consider a true 'detox' for a human being to be more involved than just taking a couple of tablespoonsful of product per day, but the herbs included in this Aloe Detox are well-known for their benefits to the digestive system and et cetera, and I did feel 'lighter' for a time after I took some out of curiosity. The taste is a bit odd, the spearmint permeates it, but it is not unpalatable in my opinion. It might be a nice supplement to a larger plan of action for an individual's long-term detoxification program.) UPDATE: Shortly after I wrote my review here for the Aloe Detox, our sun conure decided that he was tired of drinking it multiple times a day, and aside from the occasional long drink from a spoon, he really won't accept it anymore. He still sneezes sometimes, I wonder if that will ever go away, but his colors are beautiful, he has a great appetite, and he has lots of spunk and vigor (too much, sometimes!). He has been integrated into the rest of the flock and the birds all generally get along well, and those times I will offer the Aloe Detox to him now, some of the other parrots often want to try and drink it, too. It's like a treat! So as a focused supplement, the Aloe Detox's time has passed in our household--at least for the time being. It definitely was useful to us during that quarantine period, however, and I still recommend it highly to other parrot owners who are looking for a way to help naturally cleanse their feathered friends. UPDATE #2: Earlier today (11/18/12) my husband and I both realized with some surprise that, as far as we're aware of, our little sun conure hasn't sneezed or gone through a coughing fit for quite some time. His colors are brilliant and he's full of pep and energy--I think that just goes to show what the right diet and supplementation can do for a little creature, along with lots of love and attention and, of course, being in a situation away from harmful toxins like cigarette smoke!!

Gentle detox drink that feels refreshing and easy on the stomach
I tried this aloe herbal detox formula as a way to support my digestion and overall wellness, and it’s been a nice addition to my routine. The flavor is mild, a little earthy but not hard to drink, and it goes down smoothly. I usually take a small amount in the morning before breakfast, and it feels soothing on my stomach. What I appreciate most is that it doesn’t feel harsh or dehydrating. The blend with milk thistle and dandelion root gives it a gentle cleansing effect, and it helps me feel a bit lighter and less bloated throughout the day. The texture is light and not too thick, so it’s easy to pour and mix if you prefer diluting it with water or juice. It’s just one of those simple wellness habits that feels grounding and good for the gut.

Good price
This is a great product and typically would buy at Sprouts. The Amazon seller’s price is a better price. Would recommend trying the product.

This detox formula works very well. I recommend it highly.
This detect aloe vera mixture is by a very good company that’s been around for a long time. I trusted a lot. I’ve used it before and it actually brought me out of a chemical poisoning quite a few years ago since then when I have problems right now with a digestive problem I am taking it again. I really believe it’s going to help me like it did in the past. Thank you. I do recommend this very highly.
