Garden Creations JB5125 Automatic Outdoor Sensor Timer

It's great to not have to go outside in the rain, snow and cold weather to turn my terrace lights on and off every day. So far its held up in all sorts of weather. The extra outlets the unit has are very useful. It is important not to block the unit's sensor from daylight b/c the light change from light to dark and back again is how the unit 'knows' when to turn on and off. I had an outdoor chair blocking the unit from daylight/sunlight, so it was 'in the dark' constantly and wouldn't turn on. When I moved the chair so that the unit was better exposed to daylight/sunlight, it started working perfectly again.

I don't know about your area, however locating an outdoor timer in August in my area was not an easy task. I drove to five different stores and not one was available. I returned home and found this one on Amazon and it was priced very nicely. Hooked it up to two our strings of lights and set it on "dusk to dawn" and it worked perfectly and has been since installing. great buy and the exact product I was looking for.

I was concerned about the other reviewers saying that rain made the timer stop working, so I bought a different brand for backup so when this one fails I have one on hand. BUT, after several days of afternoon rainstorms and Tropical Storm Isaac, this product works great. In Florida, its the rainy season now so Ive been worried that it would short out due to constant water but it has held up fine! Idk what more to say except this is worth the money, it functions perfectly, and Im glad I bought it.

I got two of these; one was DOA, the second failed within six months of unprotected outdoor use. The one that worked was fine until it broke, turning on at dusk and off after a preset on-time duration or at dawn. Mechanically, the timer is rugged enough and appears well made; the sensor electronics, however, are too cheap to be reliable. Perhaps at a $5 higher price point, they could make one that works and intended.

We purchased this for our outdoor holiday lighting. Figured it was a waste of electricty to have it on all night when very few people travel our street late at night.I was surprised at how seemingly well built this thing is and how easy it is to use. You don't even need to read the directions, you just plug it in and turn the dial.

This is the first timer I've ever purchased, so I really have nothing to compare it to. I'm currently using this for my outdoor Christmas lights. It worked perfectly for the first two weeks, and then just last week for whatever reason the timer did not shut off and my lights stayed on all night(set to 4 hours). Then the following day it turned off at the designated time, but turned back on again in the morning for about 10 minutes and then turned back off. I went out and unplugged everything and kind of "reset" it, and it's been working fine since. Even w/these issues, it's still better than running outside in the cold every night to plug/unplug everything.

Bought this for use under a patio roof to control Christmas lights from dusk to dawn. Other than flickering as it tries to decide if it is dark enough yet to come on it works really well. When I need to use it as a regular power plug simply turn the knob and you're good to go. Turn it back at the end and it's once again dusk to dawn only.Works great at a great price!

I installed this timer to run my pond lights. Everything checked out upon installation. The second night, they were out. I could not get the thing to function again. I returned the unit and received a full refund, then bought another product - 'First Alert' timer (same company who makes home fire alarms.
