Standard-sized cards slide in and out easily, and the indented lip allows you to pull one out with your thumb and not scatter them everywhere (which is what happened with the other one that has a sliding lid and cards go in lengthwise).It's made of soft material, has an invisible magnet closure on the flap to help keep it shut, and looks good with just about anything. So far no complaints - even after a trip through the washing machine. The cards were a wash (ha ha) but the card holder itself was unscathed after it dried out.
