Excellent way to quickly test your kiddo
My daughter likes these and thinks it is a game, but it is also an excellent tool for me to determine what she has mastered and what she needs more help learning. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I love the decks. They are super easy to use. One page has the questions and the page immediately behind it has the answers. All the pages are attached by a pin in the corner of the pages and it seems really secure and sturdy. Each card has three separate questions except for some cards. For example the entire card is one image and the child has to put the images in the correct sequence. The questions range from counting, sequencing, inferring what is happening, telling time, counting money, finding hidden objects, identifying images and saying the letter the image starts with ( e.g. shows a picture of a pan and asks what letter the object starts with). A great tool for homeschooling.

Great resource to transition 4 year olds
I got this for my toddler as he has completed the toddler one and to keep him on his toes the next progression was kindergarten since that’s where he’ll be going the next school year. He likes doing brain quest though he hasn’t gotten into these cards yet as I think some of it seems a bit hard for him as he hasn’t been exposed to it yet but I think that’s the point as he’s being expose to it now. It’s a transition from Amanda the Panda to the Lion (I even forgot his name - Patrick I think). I think it’s great to expose my 4 year old to concepts he’ll learn in kindergarten so he’ll be ahead and I really love these cards. I used them years ago with my daughter who’s 15 now. I think these with other resources have allow my children to always be 2-3 grade levels ahead. Definitely recommend!

Fun, Educational, Well Made
I bought these cards for my 6 year old son (kindergartener) for Christmas. He is very active and is not into workbooks or flashcards in general, but I wanted to work with him on educational topics. Luckily, he really saw these cards as a game and had fun doing them with me. The subjects cover patterns, fill in the letter sound, how many, find shapes, find objects that start with a certain letter, telling time on a standard clock, how much money needed to buy an item (using quarter, dime, nickel, penny), prepositions (eg which bear is under the bridge?), portions (which pizza is in halves), etc. My son knew enough of the answers to make it a speedy and rewarding game. He likes that after each question card, which has three illustrated puzzles, there is an answer card on which the answer is highlighted in some way. That way he could check the answers himself and see what he had gotten right. On the harder questions he didn't know the answer to such as adding up the value of the coins to buy something, I was able to add in a verbal lesson like, "a penny is 1cent and a dime is 10 cents," bascially giving him enough information to help him put the answer together himself. The only down side is that we have already gone through all the cards within a week after Christmas. He remembers the answers to all the questions now without even really looking at the question. He just recognizes the illustration. So, I will put them away for awhile and pull them out again after a month or so and see if we can reuse them. They are a little spendy considering how fast we went through them, but I see now that I really like the Brain Quest products and have my eye on some other ones for future purchases.

Brain Quest is completely worthwhile -- my kid loves it
My kid loves this. It's interactive and he wants to do more and more of the quizzes. As others have pointed out, the "kindergarten" level works well for kids who are a little younger.I highly recommend these to any parents. These Q&A games make a nice alternative to reading books to your kids, and they're also really good ways to spend some "in between" time. One of the things my son definitely learned directly from these Brain Quests is what a "pattern" means. Several of the Q&A segments show pictures in a sequence (such as two apples, a banana, two apples, and then a blank spot) and ask the child to figure out what should come next. My son now relates the idea of a sequence or pattern to things in the real physical world, and I know he got that concept from Brain Quest. Really cool.He also loves the hidden pictures, the mazes, the "find items that start with this letter" pictures, and so on.My main complaint with this product is that there aren't more BrainQuest items available at my son's 3 1/2 year level. If they had multi-packs of these things, instead of just one set per grade level, I would probably buy all of them.

Must buy for bedtime and travel
Keeps our kids entertained for hours. Nice and compact for travel, worked well on an airplane. Kids cuddle up at bed time and focus. Love it.

Excellent, but watch out for accuracy!
As other reviewers have noted, the box for this Kindergarten level said ages 5 - 6, but the decks say ages 4 - 5. I'd guess the latter is more accurate, as my 4 year old does these with ease. She *loves* them, though, and there are the occasional questions she didn't know the first time around, that sparked us to teach something new.My only real criticism is in the accuracy of some of the pictures. "Mrs. Lion" has a large mane, for example. Or, the photo in which the caterpillar has 8 legs, and the spider has 6, ironically just a few cards after the "How many legs does this spider have?" question. But, even these instances help me teach my daughters - how to fact check, where the anomaly of the maned lioness lives, etc. Overall, an excellent product that keeps the fun in learning.
