Comfortable Mic! Loud But Not Overbearing!
Packaging was nice! I installed on my UV9R+ and tested! Sounds Great! No problems with Tx or Rx! Would buy again! PTT button could be sturdier!

Not working out of box (actually a plastic bag)
When the hand mic arrived, it was packaged in a plastic bag, and Amazon delivered it in a padded yellow envelope. There are no instructions that come with the hand mic but it's self-explanatory on how to connect it. The single flat-head screw on the mic-port (right side) cover of the UV-9R radio - is used to hold the mic port down - so transfer it to the mic connector (the end of the hand mic cable with the prongs sticking out - BTW, don't lose it). Initially it didn't work. Upon inspection of the face (the prongs) - I noticed that the prongs were not sticking out - so it wasn't making a connection to the radio (small flat copper circles on the mic port of the radio). I disassembled the connector prong end of the hand mic and noticed that the interface was not assembled correctly and the that prongs were not all the way out. After re-assembling the prong interface - with the prongs sticking out, the hand mic then worked. I really don't think that the hand mic is water resistant so have some plastic nearby if it rains. The sound was OK but heavily distorted on max volume. Overall, poorly manufactured and it feels like a very cheap handset you find on a kids toy (feather weight - not like good hand mics from Yaesu or Kenwood). Fine for short trips but not recommended for anything else.
