Cute crocheted friends, experience not necessary!
This is the third crochet book by Ana Paula Rimoli that I have purchased and it is just as good as the others. I had never even heard of amigurumi until I spotted Ana's first book "Amigurumi World" a few years ago- it was from that book that I learned to crochet, and since then I have made many, many of the toys featured in her two previous books. Who could resist those sweet yarn toys with their smiling faces?!This book (like the previous ones) has a helpful, easy-to-follow "Guidelines" section that shows how to complete the stitches required in the patterns. Most of them require little beyond chain and single crochet stitches as well as the ability to crochet in the round, and most are designed to be quick projects of a couple hours or less. Each one requires only small amounts of yarn and other supplies, so they can often be made with leftovers from previous crafting projects. In addition to yarn, you'll need crochet hooks (patterns use G/6, F/5 and E/4 hooks), scraps of felt, a yarn needle, and either plastic safety eyes or bits of felt to sew on for eyes. These little yarn characters make great (and inexpensive) little homemade gifts; they are so cute and they will be enthusiastically received by anybody you give one to!The patterns are easy to follow and list all steps clearly. Each pattern is accompanied by lovely color photos (often several, showing the completed item from different vantage points) that are super helpful to look at as you make your toys. The patterns all have assembly instructions for joining together the individually crocheted pieces to make the finished project. This book has patterns for the following-Hot Dog Set (a hot dog, bun, ketchup & mustard bottles)Mom & Baby Polar Bear (with hat and fishing pole!)Garden Friends- snake, mouse and birdLittle Bunny & her carrot homeSea Friends- jellyfish, cuttlefish, dolphin, and little narwhalSantiago- a little Boston Terrier (he fits in a crocheted food dish!)Mom & Baby Duck- they even have apple & bear hatsLittle Pig & MomTree Love (a smiley tree with crocheted leaves)Mom & Baby KoalaLittle Strawberry plantLittle kitten & bedPrincess Frog & her water-lily throne (adorable!)Happy Little Sweet Snacks- flan, hot cocoa, and cakeLittle TugboatLittle babies- tiger, lion, bear and elephant (each about 3" tall)Mom & Baby FoxShy Little Unicorn (so cute!)If you already like to crochet and make amigurumi, or if you want to give it a try, this is a great book for you!

Amigurumi + Ana Paula Rimoli = AWESOME!
This book is so much fun! I just finished my first ami from this book: the jellyfish and it turned out SO GOSH DARNED CUTE, I want to make a whole troop of them! The patterns are very easy to follow and I love that she shows pics of the fronts & backs and also the underneath if there is a particular thing that needs to be noted about the pattern, so you can check on your progress to see if you're doing it right. There are basic stitch how-to's/reminders in the back & a glossary of stitches used (in case you don't quite remember or know what the abbreviations stand for), and even an embroidery stitch how-to for things like noses and mouths. The only thing I would have liked to see is a rough estimate of how tall/long each of the finished items are, but it's not a life-threatening issue (and I know it depends on yarn weight/ hook gauge and all that) but a rough estimate would have been a nice little reference bonus. These animals are SO cute and I just can't wait to make more!! (next is the hot cocoa and the fox!!:D) I would recommend this book to EVERYONE, even beginners since the patterns are easy to understand and follow and the time to make them is relatively quick. HAVE FUN!! :)

Cute, Fun & great for beginners
This is a great starter book for beginners. The lay out is neatly organized - just perfect.Patterns and instructions are very well explained and detailed. You don't need to flip back and forth between pages to work on any required parts for your toy.Per project, a colored picture of the finished product is shown on the front of every page.I find this very helpful because, as a beginner, it gives you a visual idea of how and where to sew the parts together. The smallest toys measures about 3.5-4". On average, most toys are anywhere between 5-7".I, a starter myself, love this book. Love it!It's a lot of fun! There are over 30 cute little toys!!!This is the first Amigurumi book I own.First, I was bit hesitant and almost didn't buy it. (Would have made huge mistake and regret)Because it's an online purchase, I couldn't flip through the book then make my decision.I'm the type that likes to physically see, feel and touch whatever it is that I'm spending my hard earned money on. HAHAAnyway, if you are looking to start somewhere in the amigurumi world, I highly recommend this book. It's a great investment. You'll have NO regrets.

Creative Bliss!!!
I wanted a copy of my own since I checked it out twice from the local library. Instructions in the book are for a black/white Boston Terrier. I decided to make it in different colors. Time to crochet all parts shown so far is less than an hour. The stitching of the muzzle and stripe on the head is where my time was eaten up. Iβm going to make everything in this book ...... Buy it you wonβt regret it......I wish I were the tester for books such as this Amigurumi type or cute accessories and get paid with more books and yarn π

Very cute!
I bought this because I was starting to crochet and I saw some amigurumi dolls online and wanted to learn how to make one. The book is so cute! It just makes me smile! The patterns are easy for beginners. There are some introductory help with the stitches and everything on the back of the book. It also lists places where you can buy the eyes, yarns, etc. My complaint is that there isn't a lot of pictures on how the assembly goes (between body, head, arms, legs), which isn't a big deal actually but I'm more of a visual person so that would have helped a lot. Even without the assembly picture, I managed to make my own amigurumi dolls that looks like the ones in the picture!

Another hit!
I love this book. I have been eagerly awaiting it's arrival for weeks and now it's here. I have only made one thing so far, the duck, but there are so many beautiful things to choose from I found it hard to decide. It has everything you loved from her previous two books, great pictures, clear instructions and snippets from the author about how the patterns came to be and her girls. If you loved her other books, buy this, you won't be disappointed and if you haven't ever bought one of Ana Paula Rimoli's books, and love crochet and amigurumi then buy all three!!!!
