These really help to keep the urine or other bad smells down. I can't find them at the PetSmart or Petco near me, so I have bought them on Amazon. The green apple scent is pleasant and the cats do not seem to mind. Each bag comes with a tiny scoop. I use two or three scoops for my big litter box. If you are just starting out, you may want to start with one scoop until your cats get used to the new smell. I sprinkle them on top and then mix with their old and new litter. Our litter box in in the little hall leading to the garage and you have to go past it on the way to the kitchen. These deodorizers really help to keep the smell down without perfuming the air heavily. I am someone who does not like strong scented or artificial smelling candles, and the green apple scent is fine and dissipates well.

Just started using this yesterday afternoon, we have 4 giant petmade boxes so i used two scoop per box for first use (without dumping out all the litter and starting anew, we use precious cat ultra non scented and never dump the litter out, just add more).. The scent is very pleasant to my extremely picky sinuses (i end up with a sinus headaches/migraines from most scents), even the cats are not bothered by it.. I definitely notice a difference in the litter smell the next day as i was cleaning it, there was no urine smell!! after a night of no cleaning, there is always usually a slight urine smell on first cleaning of the day and one litter box upstairs always has a urine smell every time (guess one of our cats only uses that one and his pee is strong smelling) but, not today!! Very impress by that, even the pet citrus odor linen scent things we keep around the boxes, nor the baking soda, could keep the urine smell away in that box area!! So impressed with this crystal deodorizer that i just finished buying two 5lb buckets of it so that i will never be without (one bucket at current $77 price ends up being half the cost of buying these 2packs in the long run). no more need for citrus odor things so this will save me around $12 or more a month alone and do a better job..reason for only four stars, even though it is a five star product to me, is because there is no way one pack will last 90 days! some of the crystals that stick to the pee balls and poop will get scooped up regularly and you will need to add a scoop every 2-3 days for it to work regularly IMO, so at best one pack will last 2mths per litter box in a 1-2 cat home. in our multicat home, one scoop per each giant litter box (after initial two scoops) will more than likely be required ever other day, if not daily.. Oh some of the crystals are too large for scoopers like the durascoop i use, so a scooper with larger holes will be needed if you don't want to waste crystals (i ordered a pink catit cat litter spoon as an add on today, hopefully that works if not, than i believe the new age pet scoopy will do the job since it has large square openings).btw be prepared to maybe crave apple pie after first use, i swear i could smell a baking apple pie for an hour after using this lol

While it does have a pleasant apple scent, as soon as the scent goes away, which is in about 24 hours, the odor returns. Can't say it works any better than plain ol' baking soda. Maybe it's because I have a Litter Robot which mixes and strains the litter after each kitty use, but have to say this stuff doesn't work for me.

Smells just like green apples and definitely helps cover up the litter box smell. I have a really picky cat, though, and he has decided that he dislikes green apple and will not use the litter box if I put these in it. Great product, just have a painfully picky cat.

It smells good in the bag but does nothing once it's in the litter box. I've been putting a scoop in every time I clean the litter (twice a day for one cat) and it's still just as if I never added anything.

Really happy I found this product! Green apple smell is a bit weird for a litter box, and it is very definitely "green apple", but the cats don't mind it and it does a great job of neutralizing urine odors. I don't use it every day, although I clean the box every day, just when I notice the urine smell. And such a tiny scoop is needed! Even for my super sized box. Very impressive.

This is the best cat litter deodorizer I have found, and I have used it for a few months now. I really like the fresh apple scent, and it controls odor well between litter changes. I do find that I need to add a few crystals each couple of days, not just one scoop each litter change as it says on the front of the package. It could be, though, that the Fresh'n Purr companion spray should be used when the littler is scooped. I haven't bought that yet.
