Its safe and great quality!
Glad I got this seat as it keeps me safe. Easy to put on. The height is perfect, fits well. Cannot close toilet lid, but that does.not matter, safety does. No problem at all to rise from the seat as it has hand rails on each side. Quality is excellent and so was the price!

Perfect height w/sturdy Handles!
I purchased the Drive unit as my friend had it when she had knee replacement surgery. Now I need knee replacement surgery & all the toilets in my home are very low & if you’ve had knee replacement or injury it’s very difficult to use a low toilet. I have ELONGATED toilet bowls & this unit fits perfectly. It’s important to KEEP YOUR EXISTING TOILET SEAT, lift the seat up & then instal this unit, making sure you tighten it to the front of the bowl. I haven’t had any issue with the seat moving if you install it properly. The Drive unit is 5” HIGH which makes it perfect to keep your injured leg off the floor! Some of the units are only 3” high… this does make a difference. The handles are STURDY & make it so much easier to get up & keep from losing your balance & falling. This unit is very well made & easy to clean with a toilet brush or Lysol wipes if necessary. VERY EASY TO ASSEMBLE & reasonable price for this quality unit. I will be buying a second unit for my downstairs bathroom.

Fits in cramped bathroom spaces
Wonderful product. Assembles totally without tools. Easy to put on and take off the toilet. Easier to use than the other device that I have; this one is narrowed when assembled so that toilets in cramped spaces need this unit! Makes getting on and off the toilet for those with sore knees or weak ones so much easier.

Works for my elderly mom with limited strength to stan
This was a breeze to install, though I did have to check and retighten it initially. Since then it hasn't moved. It allows my mom to easily use the bathroom and get back up, which she has had difficulty doing. My only concern is going to be cleaning it. The little channel at the front is catching liquid; that will be easy to rinse out. The solids that are hitting the back are going to require some work to scrub from the plastic. I don't want to deal with that. Not sure of the solution...

Design defect
The tightening flange does not grab the threads of the shaft that is meant to tighten it. I have to believe that this is the problem that a lot of 1-star reviewers had that they didn't realize was the problem. If they say that it didn't tighten, this is why. When it arrived, the tightening flange was at the end of the threaded shaft. First, I assembled it onto my toilet seat. It did seem to tighten to that. However, it wobbled side-to-side in an unsafe way. So, I unscrewed it, lifted the lid and attempted to install it on the toilet rim instead. However, I could have screwed that tightening nut all day and it would not tighten up. The problem is that the female hole in the tighten flange (the tab that grabs the inside of the toilet rim to tighten up on) WILL NOT TIGHTEN on the threaded shaft. It seems like the female end of that flange is not threaded. Although, I believe it does because it did seem to tighten up on the seat when I mounted it there. I guess that when I unscrewed it from the seat that the flange unscrewed off the end of the threaded part of the shaft and it now will just not grab onto that threaded shaft no matter how hard I try to get it to bite into that thread. So, IMHO, this is a design and/or manufacturing flaw of the most basic nature. How can you design and manufacture a unit with a MAJOR flaw like this? Also, it was so wobbly when I mounted it on the toilet seat. Now, it MIGHT be more stable if I could mount it on the rim, but I am doubtful of that, and I am not taking that chance. This is going back to Amazon and I'll pay double this price for one from another company. Oh, one more thing. This item is non-returnable (unless you are Prime) and the instruction booklet tells you to call your retailer with any problems or questions. In other words, the manufacturer does not have a customer service help desk phone number and they do not allow returns. Just think about that for a minute and I think you will make the same choice that I am making right now.

Not perfect but a good value
A part on my previous elevated seat broke (the plastic tab that holds the seat onto the toilet rim along with the big screw to adjust it), so I needed a new one. (The way the tab goes on is inside the rim, so when it finally broke off it fell into the toilet, necessitating a huge plumbing bill to fix it - I hope this one doesn't do that!)I was disappointed with the way this one is made compared to my old one. The rim of the seat (the part you sit on) is noticeably narrower, making it less comfortable. (That said, it's still more comfortable than a regular toilet seat; I guess I was just spoiled by the comfort of my old, broader seat.) Perhaps they are trying to save plastic. The way the grab-bars fit makes it less roomy than my old one; not everyone who would fit between the grab-bars of my old one would be able to fit in the new one. The bars are removable, so a heavier person can still use the seat, but I need the bars to help me get seated and get up again, so I wouldn't want to do without them. The quality is generally good, except one of the two grab-bars came with a noticeable dent. Because Amazon kept delaying the initial shipping, I had been doing without a raised seat for three weeks, causing serious pain and difficulty (there is nowhere to grab in my bathroom to help me pull myself up from the regular low seat). I couldn't face the thought of weeks longer for a return and replacement, so I just let it go and put that grab-bar on the side near the wall where it doesn't show (although I can feel it every time I use it, as it's right in the center where your hand goes). A good feature of the grab-bars is that almost the entire bar is covered, so no matter where you grab them, you don't touch cold metal. On the whole I'd give it 3.5 stars. Other raised seats online and in my local drugstores were twice the price, so it seems to be a good value.

Post knee replacement
Just what I needed for my old, low commode after knee replacement. My bathroom is small so it connecting directly to the commode was a huge asset. It is comfortable, easy to use and sturdy.
