I generally burn sandalwood and aloeswood together for meditation and a relaxing room. These are the top of the line Nippon Kodo so use wisely or not as it all depends on you. The scent linger a long time, they burn in about 20 minutes to 25 minutes. Best meditation is 30 minutes, and 15 for a breather when you are more adjusted to Zen style meditation. Kayuragi is the best. The absolute best. The Japanese Cypress is fantastic and I do use it in place of sandalwood when I feel like a slightly different atmosphere. I have used a lot of different incense over the past 50 years, and as all things evolve so did my appreciation of not burning wood stick scents. They last longer but have heavier smoke and aroma. I developed a love and appreciation for the basically ancient craftsmanship and dedication to perfection of this level and brand. Meditating since I was 16 so I know my way around the brands and styles. On a budget it is hard to stay away from Nag Champa for a sandalwood blend, on a stick but it does not affect my breathing so something is done right.

These are the best 3 and popular scent incenses for my opinion. Each cost $12-13 at a store 5-6 years ago, so it’s a really great deal value for buying 3 for this price. They are very calming and light scent. However, the incense smells bother my dog sometimes. In this case, I turn on the kitchen oven fan or open windows while the incense is on. Then, my dog seems ok to deal with.

I have been a Japanese incense lover for a very long time and I’ve tried many! I love all of these varieties. The deep but subtle scents are perfect and they have a calming vibe. The price is excellent and I would have expected them to be more pricey! I highly recommend!

I have been using this Aloeswood for a few years now and its divine fragrance is unmatched. It is absolutely amazing and everyone who has ever smelled it in my house has ended up ordering their own box. (Note: Male family & friends really like it!) When I saw I could get my Aloeswood and 2 other natural scents, I ordered this set to try. I discovered Sandalwood in cheap incense cones back in the 70’s - nothing to compare it to so unaware of quality differences. Older & wiser, I had high expectations from this premium brand. As expected, it produced a pure, clean, & earthy sandalwood scent - without heavy smoke or the smell of burnt fillers. For me, Sandalwood is relaxing, BUT there’s something about this Aloeswood fragrance that inspires joy & creativity. Japanese Cypress, is probably going to be more for cold evenings in fall/winter. The woodsy scent makes me want to curl up with a hot beverage & chill. HELPFUL TIP: To get as much burn out of the sticks, I use an used candle jar. Heat wax in the bottom only enough to slightly soften wax surface. Set just the base of the stick on wax then hold a few seconds for wax to set. Then light your stick - you’ll burn practically the entire stick. It always frustrated me to have those unburned stumps inside the tile holder. Bonus: the ash falls inside the jar, no mess to wipe up. Hope some of this info is helpful. 😉

This incense was a nice surprise. It is very high quality and lends a clean and natural scent to yoga or Buddhist ceremony.

Love these so much. The aloe wood was our favorite, but all of the fragrances are beautiful. Not overpowering, but have a nice staying power after burned. I have chronic migraines and none of them bother me at all.
