Q: Is this a decent size for an adult dog?

I don’t think a Great Dane could get all fours on it, but he could get his back end to do his business! I think washable pads are larger.

Q: Do they have replacement grass to place in the tray ?

Yes, you can purchase grass separately if needed. I have seem some people buy real grass sod for the tray also.

Q: how many washable grass pads come with this?

1 washable grass rug. I use a potty pad beneath the grass rug to prevent urine from laying in the tray.

Q: Do all three pieces lock in place? Will it hold up and stay togther for puppy chewing?

No, inside plastic mat and then grass pad only lie inside the outer tray. Not locked in place. Would suggest you only take puppy on leash to pad. If let to their own devices, I am sure they would chew!
