Yasutomo Mineral Paper Multi-Media Artists Pad, 11 x 14 inches, 20 Sheets (JMP400)

There is something magical about this paper. A synthetic paper suitable for alcohol inks, pigments, acrylic inks and whatever you can dream up. All marker and artist quality pens that I have used for linework glide beautiful. I have used light sprays of spray paints and nearly all mediums on this! Because this paper is made from ground stones and minerals there is a slight shimmer which produces a more vivid alcohol ink and it is breathtaking. I have recommended this paper to multiple artist who have had pieces win gallery showings using this substrate. It is truly in a league of its own. The company is wonderful - very friendly and supportive in all art mediums. I enjoy using this product and recommend highly without hesitations. The large pieces can easily be cut in half with a paper cutter to double the amount of an already VERY reasonably priced substrate.

I use this for watercolor - very interesting surface that never buckles but can handle most watercolor techniques.

I used these for a fun art project using acrylics and inks. The paper remained sturdy and was a good thickness. I would have liked to be able to get it in a bigger size. When my paint and inks dried the paper was flat with no distortion to shape or texture.

Doesnt grab the silverpoint as much as i had hoped. Possible im not 100% on technique so gave it a 4 as it does seem well made and presented.

This magical mineral paper is a joy to paint on. It is like if you combined the best parts of traditional paper and the polypropylene Yupo. It takes the paint like regular paper but allows lifting almost as well as yupo. You can scrub the paper and treat it very roughly and the surface stays nice and is not disturbed. Allows for excellent pigment granulation. I love it and look forward to future adventures with it!

I’ve purchased this many times before and never had a problem but this last pad of 11 x 14 inch is repelling water which is not what I want it to do, it’s the complete opposite of what it usually does. Customer service at Yasutomo was great but I felt I should have been refunded or sent another pad. Their suggestion to alleviate the problem didn’t work for me.

Love, Love, Love painting on this paper! I use it for pen and ink and watercolor. It's smooth surface takes some getting used to because the paint doesn't soak in like it does on watercolor paper, but colors stay true and I love the wet-into-wet effects I can achieve! My only complaint is their customer service. I sent several emails asking questions, and no one ever replied. I also wish they made a thicker paper as well as some larger sizes. But It has become one of my favorite surfaces to paint on.

Arrived very quickly, perfect condition, no problems. I was able to use liquid inks, liquid watercolor, and high flow acrylics on this paper without any buckling.

I’ve been painting a new technique that I call abstract watercolour flooding. Lots of water, and paint. The paper is super thin but doesn’t buckle. It dries well and I can do lots with it.

I like it!! Feels a bit like Yupo too. Would love a heavier weight if that ever is produced
