Exactly What I Was Looking For
Book has crisp color images. The sections are short and informative, and tell you how to harvest and produce the extract as a tea, syrup etc...Makes a great reference book.

Fascinating expansion of their Backyard Medicine book
I've long-adored Julie and Matthew's book Backyard Medicine and recommended it to students who are interested in working with common wild plants. It's well illustrated with photographs and in-depth write ups one each plant. Very practical and easy to read/use yet detailed with common and uncommon uses. As it turns out this Big Big Book is about 1/2 a reprint of Backyard Medicine PLUS about 1/2 all new plants. The additional plant monographs are often more obscure (common weeds but ones you might not have thought or heard about) and not quite as detailed as those in the first book/first section of this book. Some new ones that I'm happy to see covered include valerian, ground ivy, goldenrod, chicory, and violets. Overall, I think the first part of the book is more useful, but it's fabulous that they basically doubled the size/content of Backyard Medicine yet it retails for the same price. So, why not? I've included pics of the Table of Contents for the two parts (basically the first pic is what's also in Backyard Medicine, the second one is all new content in this Big Book). Either way, they're both great resources! :)
